  • Wow, this is great information. You are very clear and informative

  • I was recomended for prolotherapy for SI joint dysfunction, I have recently been cured by a gluten free (wheat/grain) diet. So glad I didn't do this before trying the diet. I urge anyone else having any joint dysfunction to go gluten free and see if it helps, I started improving immediatly!!!!!

  • I am a phsical therapist assistant and totally agree with this concept. I have an SI problem and use these techniques on myself with help of course and on my pts to correct the mal-alignment of the joints involved. I remain painfree.

  • This video has addressed all of my problems!!! lower back pain, misaligned hip/leg, and numb ache in upper thigh. Thanks so much for uploading! I also recommend anyone with similar to use aswiss ball and Pilates to strengthen core muscles and lower back.

  • what are his credentials? I am a physical therapist assistant and am currently in school working on my doctorate of chiropractic. i have treated a great number of back pain patients and would NEVER reccommend this video to anyone. this "getting stuck" he speaks of.... is a misalignment! and these "thrusts" he shows are freeing the joint... ok so this is partly what chiropractic is based on. it is true. it is supported by research. it DOES occur in the spine and at ANY joint in the body

  • As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I employ this technique on a daily basis with patients. It works well, but the results are typical not long lasting. The underlying cause of the pelvic imbalance must be addressed in order to fully resolve pt symptoms.

Also, I'd disagree with the videos initial comments about "the spine doesn't get misaligned". Inter vertebral positional faults are very common particularly in patients with postural dysfunctions.

  • I had a pubic symphysis diastasis of 4.8 cm while giving birth. It led to pelvic misalignment and severe SI joint pain. My physical therapist made me do these exercises and they helped a lot! Now that i have stopped going the pain is back and i think i should continue doing them myself.

  • i think that this is the best therapy. Very good, please direct me some literature.

  • i think that this is the best therapy. Very good, please direct me some literature.

  • Should you exercise or rest when you have this sort of problem ?

  • i bought the iyashi wand from iyashiwand.co.uk for my wife who has Rheumatoid Arthritis, the wand also helps relieve many other pains, i hope this helps anyone who suffers from this condition

  • thx! I needed that one.

  • Well the way he is instructed to train his quads will stretch his hams probably more effectively than classical stretching methods, so all in all it will work.

  • the problem with this patient seems to be a shorted hamstring possible imbalanced and all the adjustments done will need to be done again and again, so what he needs to do is stretch the hamstring and rethink his running regime (he shouldn't be that tight) I agree with the quads strengthening but that was done in a compromised method, no way will it increase the man's quads like that. otherwise good video, prosit

  • I love my chiropractors and they've been immensely helpful, but this exercise here has me feeling better than I have in years so thanks for taking the time to post it!

  • Liked the analogies and descriptions, and learned a few things. Controversial to disbelieve in spinal misalignment, although I agree about "slipped" discs, but not my area of expertise to comment on.

  • Great video . very interesting .very informative!

  • SI joint dysfunction is ALWAYS on the other side than the pain. And usually the shorter legs side has SI joint dysfunction.

  • Great explanation!!!!!! I wish EITHER my back Doctor OR my Chiropractor took the time to tell me all this. They just like looking at me and taking my money. Injured my L5 disc 7 months ago, and no one tells me anything about how (or why) to treat it. I wish you were my Chiropractor! Going to start looking for new professionals to help me this New Year......... lots of shitty Doc's out there.

  • brilliant! thank you for such an enlightening explanation =)

  • Why would you think there can be an SI joint obliquity (mislaignment) but not a spinal misalignment?

  • that stuff works wonders. i have one leg shorter than the other and had pain going down the back of my thigh. its been an ongoing thing since i was 16...now 26. now i am having radiating hip/thigh pain on the opposite side. i would literally limp in there, then leave feeling no pain at all after the adjustment and an ultrasound. time to go to the physical therapist.

  • Informative....thanks.

  • I also stated that all those negative commenters seem to be or into newageyogiswamibullsh*t, or non physicians whatsoever, with a minimal account.

I have been a butcher for 20 years, and know from pigs that SI joints have an irregular hooked form.

These techniques cured a lot of people from pains where a common doctor said "i don't see nothing, so here you have some painkillers to get hooked on here's the bill"

If you are not sure, let your pt see the vid, and comment it. (like i'm doing)

  • This is quackery.

  • @Garciamrcool

So the doctor treating me (he did a 6 year university study for it) is a quaker?

For he did the same tests, and saved me from backpain without getting Jesus, Buddha, ghosts and tarotcards in, or wave with leaves and chickens.

I do not know about mr. Symons qualifications, but with common sense i see he applies the same techniques that cured me.

(always see a qualified physician with problems like this)

  • @Tonyp68

Now i see the physical therapist is called mr. Rob Jordan.

In Holland this aquires 4 year academic education.

  • @Garciamrcool I have been through this myself, and have the exact same adjustments done.

It is not quackery. It works. Pain goes. Legs realign. But hey, thanks for your long informed input!!

  • Great explanation of this adjustment, I am getting into chiropractic, thank you.

  • wow, what qualifications do you have? I have cert 4 massage therapy and diploma of remedial massage but I don't know this much :S

  • @Grosser611 Chiropractors get doctorate degrees.

  • awesome video.. thanks for the info!!

  • every body should know this. Too many people with SI pain for many years,

    pretty good info!!

  • I've been dealing with lower back pain for about 2 years now. I finally found out about the SI Joint dysfunction from a friend yesterday. This video was great! I'm not scared to see a chiro now. I'd heard too many horror stories beforehand, but if it's this easy of a fix... Thanks so much!

  • one question please, how often or how many time a day and for how long is the minimum or number of times one is required to do this.

    thank you

  • THANK YOU! this is what ruined my day, and it could have been so simple, someone needed to pull on my leg, but nobody did.

  • "absolutely identical" leg length - Bullshit. I have a leg length discrepency and sacroiliac joint pain

  • Your lack of knowledge is dangerous. Whats your professional resume?

  • why does the guy wave at 0:14

  • @david102994 it looked to me that he waved because he was in pain and wanted the instructor to stop. Not quite sure.

  • @david102994 nevermind my previous comment, ha ha. The guy waves because he agreeing that he has a problem that the instructor is talking about.

  • great video

  • This method led to complete symptom relief after three years of pain and immobility.

  • I am a sport therapy and I can confirmed your explanation and treatment are great ,well done .@ seansymons

  • Hey, I like your style AND your knowledge!!! We need more medical professionals like you out there helping us out of our pain instead of all those money hungry back surgeons out there. KEEP IT UP, MY FRIEND!!!!

  • "Pubic Synthesis"??? Teeth in the S.I. Joint???? fucking goof!

  • I am familiar with the adjustments you are suggesting. I have had them many times but they would not hold. Maybe because I was never shown the exercise you show at the end of the video. I'll try that from now on. thank you.

  • @AFumiere the reason they don't hold is because this does not address the cause of the pelvic misalignment, which is in most cases, nerve interference due to misalignment of the upper neck.

  • Fantasic! Thank you.

  • Who says this guy is actually a licensed PT or did I miss something?

  • No such thing as a slipped disk? That's incorrect. The spine can not be out of alignment? Dude, I've seen the spondylothesis in my own back (which is a misalignment in my lumbar spine) on a standing xray done by my chiropractor who I started seeing a few weeks ago. The guy took my life-long low back pain away in less than a few sessions. I don't doubt that some of what you do does help, but don't discount other things that work as well.

  • I have leg length variance on L side w/si joint issues on that side. I'm a runner and this has really hurt my running. what should i be doing?

  • This man has no clue what he's talking about. Scary.

  • I have a vacuum in both of my SI joints and it causes such intense pain! After walking for a distance I can't walk very well the next day. Maybe this will help me?

  • Comment removed

  • well sacrum is a part of the spine.

  • @enrosque333 You're 100% correct. The spine can and does go out of alignment. It's called abnormal posture. More technically, the spine can rotate & translate in 6 degrees of freedom. There is also abnormal sagittal alignment problems (such as a hypolordosis or reversal of the normal lordotic curves).

  • The PT in this video has some neurological basics but what he chooses to ignore is that the PT profession is implementing manual manipulation/adjustment techniques into its programs.

The chiropractic adjustment is what the PT's want because it works both in the pelvis, extremities and throughout the spine. By the way, the axial traction force with the 'quick thrust' is a non-specific Hip joint adjustment. Congratulations for showing almost 11k viewers what one hip adjustment looks like!

  • Amazing! MD's, PT's, and DO's want to own chiropractic's spinal adjustments, but in the same vien denegrate chiropractic and deny deviations in the juxta positions of both intervertebral and axial joints. CHIROPRACTIC!!!

  • So let me get this straight. The PT in this vid says the SI (sacroiliac joint) can be disturbed but not an uncovertebral (facet or spine) joint? Woah! People! Think about it. We are able to forward bend, extend, laterally flex, and rotate our spine due to the vertebral (facet) joints. Now have you ever felt a "kink" in your spine? Now you got it straight...ooops! CHIROPRACTIC!!!

  • Sean a misguided PT? "No such thing as a vertebrae out of place". Wow! He means for all to believe that millions of chiropractic patients have been scammed? The most educated and fastest growing health care provider (DC)(I see 525 pv/week, 40 new patients a month) fooled everyone? CHIROPRACTIC!!!

  • thanx sean. that works out very good. by the way the guy you used for an example is such a pussy

  • Do you offer this service somewhere in NY? I KNOW I need this. Where can I contact you?

  • Very helpful.

  • Excellent, Excellent, Excellent video and explanation! Now, I can get help after 2 years of "I don't see anything wrong, maam.

  • Hi Sean:

    EXCELLENT video and explanation.

Thank you! Now, I can explain!

  • bloody good explanation. people like u make youtube wonderful.

  • Hi Sean,

I have an SI joint problem, and a therapist helped me and I haven't had a problem since last year, BUT this past Wednesday, I moved the wrong way and I believe I through the darn thing out again. I don't have the pain in the back, I have pain in the hip. I believe I'm stuck in an upslip? I deon't relish the thought of going back to an orthopedist, but I guess I'll have to. This video is great, wish I had someone to help me. Sigh

  • Very interesting.

My left leg is shorter than my right...I's always gots a sore left hip. Pain in the ass...or the hip...whatever.

    How you feelin now sean?

  • Great video!

  • Hm. Think I'm gonna' have me chiropractor look into that...

  • Cool video.

  • "I am Sean's Pelvis" the series. Really enjoyed this video, especially when you went "ouch".
