is a hybrid martial arts system and life philosophy founded by martial artist Bruce Lee with direct, non classical and straightforward movements. Due to the way his style works they believe in minimal movement with maximum effect and extreme speed. The system works on the use of different 'tools' for different situations. These situations are broken down into ranges (Kicking, Punching, Trapping and Grappling). Sorry bro, but ain't is not a word.
@DU13573P and it is not -.- you can´t redefine something that wasn´t found by you ... bruce lee said jeet kune do is not a style so fuck it, if you think you are right, it´s your problem lol this discussion has no sense at all haha
the point of this is to over come and adapt and that is what happened bruce lee said himself that every mans way of fighting will be differant there is no exact way or form of jkd
this isnt jeet kune do 1st high kicks are rare. 2nd as bruce said "the basis for jeet kune do is you must move to hit me." these guys stay within thier fighting measures a majority of the time. 3rd there's more trapping in this video alone then all of the jkd, kick boxing, and wrestling training ive done combined(i learned some, but as a window to a strike). 5th this is not simple enough he once said "i fear not the man who practiced 10000 kicks time but the man who practiced 1 kick 10000 times"
Using no way as way, as individuals; JKD is a bridge to get one across. Once the person is on the other side. JKD no longer exists. It is merely a name after all.
yeah jumping in the air and spinning, thats the economy in motion bruce lee was talking about. This isn't jeet kune do. There's hardly and kicking above the waste in jkd because its easier to block. There's also hardly any blocks in jkd because its more economic to use 'stop hits' which are basically punching as they punch. How can Jet Li portray JKD on screen when he's never trained in it? Simply, he cant
