  • Excellent. Sorry you have to deal with the trolls.

  • amas mian novan ŝatokupon lernanta esperanto

  • And since Mr Stankbad is so sensitive to inequality and privilege, has it escaped his notice that Esperanto is a European language in both grammar and vocabulary and script, thus "privileging" Westerners! Shame! Honta!

  • @polemeros, A little study will see that Esperanto is not as European as it may seem on the surface. Look up statative verbs, adverbs of location, and La Tabulo de Korelativoj. Definitely not European features, and they are important fixtures in our grammar.

  • Wow. A new reason to whine about reality. Having natural languages become dominant as means of communication is a form of anti-democratic privilege and inequality and oppression! Utopian nutjobs. Nutjoboij utopiaj!!! LOL.

  • Sounds reminiscent of Italian to me. Why are people saying it's ugly? It's not extremely beautiful, but it's pleasant and rhythmic.

Hasn't anyone ever heard what English used to sound like? Like a bunch of dogs growling (it's softened up over the centuries, but look up Old and Middle English and you'll see what I'm talking about).

  • Vivu Esperanton! :D

  • PLEASE..... Someone tell me how to say " FUCK ESPERANTO" in esperanto !!!

  • @dannyboy860

"Fuck Esperanto" is said "FIKU ESPERANTON", or more idiomatically " Esperanto fi ! "

But, why DO NOT better FUCK YOURSELF, DANYBOY ?! FIKU VIN MEM DANIELO-KNABO!!

  • I honestly don't think it sounds that bad or ugly. Like Isa said, beauty is in the ear of the listener when it comes to languages.

  • Demokratio estas iluzio!

Nur Onia potenco acxeti permisas onian liberon, malfelicxe.

  • I believe even with a global auxillary language, we still need to keep intact and use are native languages as part of are culture. Esperanto would be great for communicating with other cultures and used on a multinational political scale.

  • It is estimated that we will lose half of the world's languages over the next century. Some say Esperanto would only speed this process up. But I agree with you. I think Esperanto would help keep these languages as one would not feel pressure to conform into greater English/French/etc culture

  • re-read your own comment......Do you even know how to use english correctly?

  • While totally agreeing and supporting the rationale behind having a neutral international language, I should say Esperanto REALLY sounds ugly, as a peasant dialect of Spanish. I think Esperantists have forgotten beauty aspect being utterly preoccupied with the simplicity of language. But beauty is as important as simplicity. It has to be reformed and made sound and even look beautiful. Get rid of accents, reapply traditional spelling of latin/romance words. Calligraphy is also important.

  • There are as many different accents as there are people speaking Esperanto; some are quite beautiful. Get rid of accents (by which I'm assuming you mean diacritics)? Would you suggest that for French, Spanish, Swedish, Romanian, Vietnamese, just to name a few? I would argue that Esperanto orthography is just fine the way it is. But, there are some "reformed" derivatives of Esperanto that might be more appealing to you. But, relatively few people use them.

  • Beauty is in the ear of the listener. I personally much prefer the sound of Portuguese, for instance, to that of Spanish. But I'm sure there are people who disagree. The Esperanto accent in this video is a bit wooden, but how a language will come to sound once it has been introduced internationally is anybody's guess. As to accents, I personally like the traditional device of substituting an 'h'. For example, charma, chiu, ghenerala etc.

  • @dannyboy860

    Vi estas tre malagrabla!

    Fiku vin!

  • @dannyboy860 The literal translation would wind up sounding dumb, you need to choose a more careful and literate slang term. English isn't the dominant language :)

  • @dannyboy860

"Esperanto eats ass" is said "Esperanto mangxas pugon"

But, Why don´t you, DannyBoy, flex yourself backwards and chew your own ass and shit ??!!

Kial, vi danielo-knabo, ne flexi retroirante gxis vi povas macxi vian pugon kaj merdon ??!!

  • demokrato estas tri lupoj kaj unu shafo decidas kio mang^i

    lol

  • Esperanto forever! If I ever get money I'm going to start an Esperanto foundation for language studies.

  • fikas esperanto if i'm not mistaken

    lol

  • Esperanto estas tre taŭga por internacia komunikado. Pli da homoj devus lerni ĝin. Mi studas nur kelkaj monatoj, kaj mi jam multe komprenas. Ĉiutage mi lernas pli kaj baldaŭ mi esperos havi bonan regon pri la lingvo. Vizitu la retpaĝon Lernu!

  • Various people, roughly 2 mill.

Potentially everybody. The language is mindblowingly easy to learn.

  • how do you say "shut up and stop watching videos about a brilliant and easy language if you don't like it".

    oh yeah, i know.

"mallaŭtigxu kaj aretu regardi filmetojn pri bonega kaj facila lingvo se vi ne sxatas gxin"

  • you're a very angry individual and, while i respect your freedom of speech and that you have a right to want me dead for no reason, i suggest you take anger management and counselling. did your daddy abuse you? well, we'll leave your therapist to decide. good luck in your future of swearing at people over the internet, and pray you don't see me in real life.

  • i'm going to stop replying you after this because i think you get some kind of sick thrill from it, but i think it's you who is being the 'internet tough guy'. you know, cursing at a LANGUAGE, talking about burning me, and calling my mother (which is a pathetic thing to do, seeing as you don't know her). but seriously, counselling.

Dankon

  • Mi lernas Esperanto.

  • lernu esperanto!

  • Why UE in the same time solving problem of considerable cost for Parliament works an promoting esperanto diffusion do not adopt by degrees official use of esperanto language? What do you think about? I like agreements. Thank.

  • PragA Manifesto!

  • Li diris 'organizajhojn' (organisations). Do la Esperanta Movado estighos la Esperanta Movajho?

  • Well said.

  • Vivu esperanto !
