I really want to get a hollow body! but I tried some out at the music store connected to a Fender Hot Rod because that is what I own. I also own a Peavey Delta Blues amp. I tried several models in my price range. which are really the Ibanez Artcores and the tone was nice but I was disappointed that it may not be the tone I was looking for Or maybe I just didn't take enough time to appreciate it. I play texas style blues and alternative, can this guitar be used for this as a rhythm guitar?

@morbe77 it depends...this thing is good for chickenpicken style on more bluegrass...although many Gretsch and Bigsby guitars were known for blues

would you reconmend the bigsby for metal songs guys? I am wondering if it works better than the flyd rose....I am making my own guitar and I like the way this bridge just sits on top instead of having to have a hole carved for the floyd rose....is it any good anyway guys?

Strats are nice, nice and comfortable, but a bit bland for me; Les Pauls are a bit small, and overrated to me. Gretch has always made the best guitars in my opinion.

"Dark muddy tone" may also be described as dark round, or dark jazzy or even creamy tone. You could do with a some marketing tips but you look memorable.

i have a white falcon and a baldwin era 72 nashville chet atkins double cutaway - im just going to replace that Bladwin era pickups for the TV jones - the "high sensitive" filtertrons - i have in my falcon sound react well to gain - ill post a video response of me playing that standard tune "misirlou on a falcon- with gain - this is live in Vancouver -- I have watched maybe 10 of your vids now - really good - much appreciated !

@cautionus I agree, I have a G6128t-tvp, and it is a work of art. When i got it I literally went over it with a magnifying glass and it is flawless.  I mention that cuz a friend of mine bought a Gib. Trad LP and there were some minor cosmetic flaws that he pointed out. Not a big deal but the point is Gretsch's (the pro line at least), are works of art. So im with ya on the beautiful comment.

Orbit..not 9000, around 2500. Can find some used for alot less. But I think the Caddy green has been discountinued. The have new colors available too. CC's are very cool playing guitars. Larger body then the 6120 makes alot deeper tones,The pickups however are debatable for true old style gretsch sound,but for those of us playing more then rockabilly and roots swing stuff with them they can really howl..sustain forever and scream with the best of them I play both a Strat and my Gretsch on stage.
