I am from Spain and i am amazed how can a chinese woman fully catched the spirit of spaniards playing the way she does....My deepest admiration to this performer
Awesome piece! The room trips me out too. First I think she's in a living room then it pans out into to like giant cool colored hall! Weird place to play Albeniz! XD
For an Asian she plays with an incredible passion, there's not just the usual commitment to a polished technique and absolute precision, but an extraordinary amount of energy and musicality as well. Without a doubt one of the best performances I've ever heard!! Truly great!
@mothman84 For an Asian? Are you implying that Asians don't have passion as a general rule or something? I realize you probably don't have that kind of belief, but be careful how you phrase things.
@Hektor88 I will always need to work on my English, but you might want to become a more careful reader yourself. "As a general rule", Asians are FIRST AND FOREMOST (!) infallible machines; that's certainly the MAIN - not the only - thing that they USUALLY - not always - convey: dedication to technical excellence. This particular artist seems to go beyond that. Now, I see no need to construe this as an attack on Asian people. Can you measure passion?! Let us all improve ourselves, shall we?
@Hektor88 EDIT: She plays with an incredible passion, there's not just the typically Asian usual commitment to a polished technique and absolute precision, but an extraordinary amount of energy and musicality as well. Without a doubt one of the best performances I've ever heard!! Truly great!
I can't think of a time I have listened to an interpretation of a piece, and thought it was just perfect. If i were to play this, I would want to do it exactly this way. This is pure genius.
Damn, this woman screwed it again. She plays the best interpretation I've ever heard of Romance, however, she plays too fast this piece and also Asturias. I love this girl anyway...
Her tone is beautiful and the performance is brilliant. I love this interpretation, it has just the right amount of Spanish 'flair' I think, not too much or too little. Maybe this version will become the difinitive for advanced Classical guitar students now, I'd say it deserves to.
I have to disagree. This is, after all, a Spanish piece and Xuefei plays it with an an uncanny Spanish flare. There is a fire and love of life in her style.
muy buen sonido y buenisima interpretacion !! viva el talento !! si señor !!

Is to smooth!! Espanga isn't a marsh mellow. The whole temperament is missing
but she can play like a God.

for me, the greatest performance of this piece
also an answer for those who believe that asian guitarists are playing like machins-very fast but without emosion.
her playing is full of colours and energy

Best rendering of Sevilla so far.
Can anyone write me the notes she plays at 1:06 - 1:10 please?
I have been playing it and something just doesn't sound right.
