its easy. if u watch the series and actually LISTEN u would know. but i'll to u anyways. sasuke may have got in the way of hakus attacks but haku never actually aimed for the vital points. and zabuza says this in the anime. dead serious! go to the episode and watch. he also says that haku was to soft. so he didnt kill him.

@sharkkid09 the needles were not in lethal positions all of them were only used to knock out naruto and sasuke never to kill them. this is proven when they talk about haku being a profession medical ninja he knows all the lethal parts of the human body if he wantted them dead he would have killed them long before this part.
