The decision to kill them wasn't even made by the Prophet pbuh, instead it was made by Sa'd ibn Mua'dh who is in dying state after he fought in the battle of the trench.
Narrated Abu Said: The people of the quraiza tribe agreed upon to accept the verdict of Sa'd. The Prophet sent for him (Sa'd) and he came... (Sahih Bukhari Book #74, Hadith #278)

Depending on the percentage of the mixing-you can get olive, tan, mulatoo, jarto, mocha, metisse- anything...you are not dominant. Pigmentation and melanin vary from people to people not because of race but because of geographic latitude and amount of exposure to UV rays. Overtime people adapt to their environments where there is alot of UV by producing more melanin from melanocytes in the deepest layer of the epidermis. race is not determined by skin color but by facial and bone structure and characteristics.

Berbers are from the Meditid race characterized by the E1b1b1 M35 haplogroup. The Meditid race is a subgroup of the Caucasian race. They are actually very close if not the same race as the Iberians, the Spanish they and the Arabs conquered. The Arabs are characterized by the J M304 Arabids haplogroup which is also a subgroup of the Caucasian race.
