I saw this when I was 10 and it seriously scared me. Now that I am older, I can really appreciate how good the acting was. Why did David not get nominated for an Emmy for this?
@stillluvit I looked up a fan-made transcript, and she says it says, "Another day of this and he'll have a regular ladder." Then he goes on to say he can't even find a vein. I think that must mean that he keeps having to put the needle in different places, so Hutch was getting a ladder of needle marks up his arm.

damn this guy played also in targets without a badge part 2 as a pornproducer when starsky and hutch were searching for a job damn that sucks they always use the same actors but still its my favourite show
