This brings back so many memories. I got my first computer in 1983 (a C64) then moved to a C128 in 1987 then on to an Amiga 500 in 1990. Everything good was always coming from Europe via a bbs. Sure doesn't seem like 20+ freaking years ago though.
Awesome!! This music was also in a really good shut'em up game done by a norwegian coder. A tough game but well balanced gameplay. He also made a really cool PC version of the game not too long ago.
i could never be arsed with the 4 disks, french subtitles and long loading times so used to just watch this. bad little electronic tune with good fukd visuals, pretty fat for an amiga. sounds like harmonic 313 took inspiration from this
Hmmm.. does anyone know if Interpol cracked more than Flashback?
Haven't found any other cracks from them despite years of searching and I simply don't have the time, though I long for, to check the good old Eurochart and other diskmags to see what happened to them...
The only Atari with better sound than the Amiga was the Atari Falcon released in 1992. The ironic part is that every tune i have heard on the Falcon is 4 channel 8 Bit Protracker modules.
The original Amiga had a quite complete set of audio features (read SkuldChand42 comment), including a good filtering system (which made even crappy samples actually sound ok).
The Atari STF was way crappier in this domain. The Atari STE is both better and worse than the amiga: Not as flexible, better sound, but not filter so crappy modules sound crappy :)
The Atari Falcon is definitely better than the Amiga, but came way later, not really fair to compare :)
these people arent stupid !

Yep. The colos are not good, but we lacked a graphic artist when I coded this cracktro. The song was composed by Monty.

Reminds me of my youth spent playing NES and SNES games. Like Double Dragon and Contra.

Ah, that crappy Flashback crack! The protection is not fully cracked so you can't finish the game. But nice intro and muzak!

Used to absolutely love this tune, would let it play for quite a while before I'd stop it in order to play Flashback ;)

Is it true that at one point the Amiga was one of the best systems for sound?
digitalWarp 4 years ago 3
It was fair - 9 octave, 4 channel (hardware - no mixing) 8 bit audio.
SkuldChan42 4 years ago 6
nope atari was better got for example dsp on board, but amiga modules were more popular and simply it was plenty of them ;]

There is a download link for the module in the video description. If you want to play this module, you have CocoModx on Macosx.
