  • To see Ms. Cissy breakdown at the end breaks my heart, I cannot fathom the pain (nor do I want to) she feels at this very moment. May God be a constant comfort to her, Bobbi Kris and all who are feeling this loss deeply. We miss you, Nippy!

  • So who made all the funeral arrangements and paid for everything, did they have a repast after and what cemetery is Luther buried in.

  • Man luther had a voice of all voices he knew wat he had was a gift .ive seen him in concert and in person he was such a very nice person ...miss u luther v.

  • i was on my way to live 8 concert london, when i heard the great man had passed, never forget

    that day. RIP.

  • DIABETES KILL ALL PEOPLE OF ALL AGES And there still isn`t enough information out there. Luther Vandross did not have HIV. If he had, he woud have stood in God`s light and shared his story so we all could learn. May his memory always remain for a blessing. May he rest in peace.

  • I went to a concert of his about a year before he died and he got really sick on stage and had to leave. We were all disappointed, but he promised to return and he did about 4 months later to a sell out crowd. Just something special about his music.

  • I really, really, really, really, really miss him and we will see him in Paradise

  • Luther Vandross one of the greastest voices of all time! rest in peace Luther I'll see you when the sun goes down and rise again.

  • This is such a touching moment! They are truly caught up in the spirit. Forget the religious nuts commenting! U have your beliefs, let others live & die by theirs!

  • Hopefully, this will help us all realize just how short life really is. Regardless of what you do in life or who you are, we must all go though death's door. Only a life in Christ is able to transfer from death to life forever!

  • I have not be able to watch any of his Funeral Videos, I pick today to watch them. Luther Vandross is a great singer, songs of love. He is so miss. But, never be forgotten. Luther Vandross RIP.

  • Luther died of a hereditary illness ,he had diabetes and hypertension the same as all his family ,he was the last of the family to die (except for his mother) his 3 siblings ,father and nephew all died before the mother ,so idiots who are suggesting he died of aids should do some reserch first.

  • @1964lynden >>Do not let these ignorant people bother you! We know Luther died from the complications of diabetes, HTN, and stroke. His heart just gave out in the end. He is now with his beloved dad, sisters and brothers and now, his mom the Reverand Mary Ida Vandross! Those who think they should judge him need to shut up!

  • @1964lynden one more thing he had a serious stroke too as well.

  • my mrs thimks he is fab so sad to lose someone so young and all that tallent

  • @1964lynden oh i thought it was neumonia...

  • where is mariah?

  • William so wot he died from aids at the end of the day you cant say he wont be missed he was an amazing artist and i will miss him

  • I might sound like a jerk but I don't know why anyone's sad he's gone. It's not like he died in a coma, he killed himself due to Vanity. his dying letter said that he couldn't live if he can't sing.

  • @williamholsey what? he didn't kill himself? where did you hear that?

  • i cant watch his funeral, i dont want to let go, not now. col me craizy bt 2 me he stil livs on. i see thers also Mavin Gaye, he is my second best and the third lover of mine is Vusi Mahlasela. i just love them

Stevie Wonder, Patti Bell, Fredie Jackson, Cissy Houston, Dionne Warwick, Alicia Keys, etc. I know they had a great time celebrating the home going of Luther Vandross.

  • @TheMetalheadPenguin July 1,2005 the day before the live 8 concert and on the concert Alicia Keys said you have to live life like it could be you last breath like it was for Luther.R.I.P Luther Vandross the greatest male r&b artist of all time in my opinion.

  • if he was a gay then he was a gay. theres no point in trying to hide it. i did like some of his music though. people dont like to talk about it ,just like they didnt like talkin about martin kings numerous affairs with women.

  • I herd lutha was gay. I dont know if he made it to heaven.

  • @veesee 128 That was such an unnecessary thing to type.

  • @IrisMG Luther's mom died??

  • Comment removed

  • @TheLanard Yes. Mother Vandross died in April of 2008. But not before she had a mausoleum built so that they could all be together. She had Luther Sr., Luther Jr., and his sisters -- and brother -- re-interred there and now she's there, too.

  • Comment removed

  • @IrisMG luther had an older brother who died back in the early 90s.........his brother's son also died in the 90s at 29 years old.

  • It was so sad, Luther Vandross was like

Elvis, His Voice was so of a kind, he will be forever remembered.

  • Does anyone know exactly what happened to Luther?. He had a voice know one has had even now, one of a kind

  • They never said what Vandross died from specifically but just said that he never fully recovered from the stroke he had 2 or 3 years earlier.

  • I see Freddie Jackson, Melba Moore with the 'bowl hat' on...Alicia Keys..Aretha..Dionne..Stevie, who blew them away with "I Wont Complain"..Cissy..Fonzi Thornton..Patti Austin (forgot that she was very close w/ Luther)...I heard Nona Hendryx's voice...heard Usher..saw anad heard Meli'sa Morgan...Nona's voice there on the end was pretty cool. Great send-off for one of the greatest vocalists of the last century. Favorite song by Vandross?...there are many but I gotta go with, 'I Wanted Your Love'

  • Go to church ppl....woooh yaeh....xxx Peace

  • R.I.P Luther! It is definitely our loss!!

  • whats the name of the song?

  • Power of love(love power)

  • He was the meanest and I love him to bitz like people love there soulmates

and he was born on my birthday

  • Wow, looks like they are celebrating the wonderful life that Luther had before his untimely passing... Anyway, heaven has opened the gates to a new citizen, like what vinotilukay mentioned, and his name is Luther Vandross!

  • i adore you all in luther,s funeral. you did it as if you did not lose the guy but u think that heaven is so happy because there is one guy named luther became the new citizen of heaven. thank lord for your grace.

  • that was such a sad day. My mom was really distraught about it. He was such a sweet guy. We all loved the voice..but I had no doubts about him coming back from the stroke. Looked like it was going to happen and then one day I heard on the radio that he had a massive heart attack and died. I really couldnt believe it...still dont, in a way.

  • All those things were complications brough on by having diabetes.
