To see Ms. Cissy breakdown at the end breaks my heart, I cannot fathom the pain (nor do I want to) she feels at this very moment. May God be a constant comfort to her, Bobbi Kris and all who are feeling this loss deeply. We miss you, Nippy!
Man luther had a voice of all voices he knew wat he had was a gift .ive seen him in concert and in person he was such a very nice person ...miss u luther v.
DIABETES KILL ALL PEOPLE OF ALL AGES And there still isn`t enough information out there. Luther Vandross did not have HIV. If he had, he woud have stood in God`s light and shared his story so we all could learn. May his memory always remain for a blessing. May he rest in peace.
I went to a concert of his about a year before he died and he got really sick on stage and had to leave. We were all disappointed, but he promised to return and he did about 4 months later to a sell out crowd. Just something special about his music.
This is such a touching moment! They are truly caught up in the spirit. Forget the religious nuts commenting! U have your beliefs, let others live & die by theirs!
There are a LOT of inspirational messages from Bishop T.D Jakes, Bishop Noel Jones, Dr. Jamal Bryant, as well as complete episodes of my favorite TV shows like "TV One's Unsung", "I hate Chris" etc....You'll also find videos of my favorite music artist's like Marvin Gaye, Enchantment, Al Green & Gospel Music !
Hopefully, this will help us all realize just how short life really is. Regardless of what you do in life or who you are, we must all go though death's door. Only a life in Christ is able to transfer from death to life forever!
as soon as I started this video i started to tear up just tough for me...sighs..amazing artist...amazing human being, his songs inspiried me...and I wanted to meet him in person to thank him personallly..R.I.P Luther
so wonderful. i celebrate his life and music. is that patti and cissy houston and dionne there? they paid tribute. i know whitney loved him so much too. and aretha. all these legendary voices.
This was definitely a celebration of Luther and his life! I was watching this at work back then and crying in my office! I will never forget it! RIP Luther!

Lol ,spent 2 hours on sat night watching the concert from wembley in 1989 with the wife, good wine, good times, great songs, great singer ,I was a skinny white guy back then and loved his music ,obviously years ahead of my time? He brough joy to millions so who cares how hw lived or died.
I have not be able to watch any of his Funeral Videos, I pick today to watch them. Luther Vandross is a great singer, songs of love. He is so miss. But, never be forgotten. Luther Vandross RIP.
Luther died of a hereditary illness ,he had diabetes and hypertension the same as all his family ,he was the last of the family to die (except for his mother) his 3 siblings ,father and nephew all died before the mother ,so idiots who are suggesting he died of aids should do some reserch first.
@1964lynden >>Do not let these ignorant people bother you! We know Luther died from the complications of diabetes, HTN, and stroke. His heart just gave out in the end. He is now with his beloved dad, sisters and brothers and now, his mom the Reverand Mary Ida Vandross! Those who think they should judge him need to shut up!

0:20 and after Alicia Keys, then we can see Fonzi Thornton singing, Freddie Jackson...Amazing people for a fantastic artist...My favorite one actually! RIP Luther.
The greatest voices of our time singing at Luther Vandross funeral service.
Stevie Wonder, Patti Bell, Fredie Jackson, Cissy Houston, Dionne Warwick, Alicia Keys, etc. I know they had a great time celebrating the home going of Luther Vandross.
@TheMetalheadPenguin July 1,2005 the day before the live 8 concert and on the concert Alicia Keys said you have to live life like it could be you last breath like it was for Luther.R.I.P Luther Vandross the greatest male r&b artist of all time in my opinion.
if he was a gay then he was a gay. theres no point in trying to hide it. i did like some of his music though. people dont like to talk about it ,just like they didnt like talkin about martin kings numerous affairs with women.
@TheLanard check out luther's journeys in black.....a BET presentation.its really good.......he taught fonzi and some others how to harmonize and all................yes bionic boogie is the name of the group......fonzi still does a lot of background of for the big stars.......he also spoke at the funeral...........i might post that................

Wow, looks like they are celebrating the wonderful life that Luther had before his untimely passing... Anyway, heaven has opened the gates to a new citizen, like what vinotilukay mentioned, and his name is Luther Vandross!
i adore you all in luther,s funeral. you did it as if you did not lose the guy but u think that heaven is so happy because there is one guy named luther became the new citizen of heaven. thank lord for your grace.
that was such a sad day. My mom was really distraught about it. He was such a sweet guy. We all loved the voice..but I had no doubts about him coming back from the stroke. Looked like it was going to happen and then one day I heard on the radio that he had a massive heart attack and died. I really couldnt believe it...still dont, in a way.
To see Ms. Cissy breakdown at the end breaks my heart, I cannot fathom the pain (nor do I want to) she feels at this very moment. May God be a constant comfort to her, Bobbi Kris and all who are feeling this loss deeply. We miss you, Nippy!

Wow, looks like they are celebrating the wonderful life that Luther had before his untimely passing... Anyway, heaven has opened the gates to a new citizen, like what vinotilukay mentioned, and his name is Luther Vandross!

that was such a sad day. My mom was really distraught about it. He was such a sweet guy. We all loved the voice..but I had no doubts about him coming back from the stroke. Looked like it was going to happen and then one day I heard on the radio that he had a massive heart attack and died. I really couldnt believe it...still dont, in a way.
