I spent allot of time at this rig in the summer and fall of 2008 north of Melville SK, they were drilling and coring for potash deposits, for Agrium. as I understand it, they hit an artesian aquifer while drilling surface before the had BOP's on., the blow out was water, not oil.

Ugh twelve hour shifts. A rat hole rig drills a hole 10 or 20 meters than cements a 22 inch joint of casing. Than we rig up the drilling rig and install a diverter on the casing. The divert has a annular and H.C.R. Than the H.C.R line is connected to the flare tank and the degasser line goes to the mud tank degasser. This is how the boys killed the well in the " Nabors 18 Blowout Video", will drilling surface. (It's not a blow out, that is a kick. Good job killin' it boy's.) Just sayin'
