God do I remember this modular unit oh-so-well. I created a rhombitruncated cuboctahedron with this unit and it took forever because it was so hard to lock them together as they're on the inside.
"Tetra" means four and "hedron" essentially means 3d. "Truncated" is means cut off, so the whole figure is just a 3d four-sided object with the corners cut off.

Great! I want to make a cuboctahedron like this; you said I need 24 "bricks" for it. But in this video there are 3 edges per vertice however there are four edges per vertice in a cuboctahedron: how to do? Please answer me! =)
I'm not sure if I understand the question, but with this modular you just have to change the angle of the module, you put 4 modules together instead of 3. You can get more information on my site, the origami on my website is under "dodecahedron", there you can follow a link to the diagrams I followed.
I searched and didn't found the inormation or "dodecahedron"; and in fact my question is: "how to put 4 modules (and not "bricks" sorry) instead of 3? How to change the angle of the module?".
3 modules s'assemblent aussi bien que 4, essaie d'en assembler 4 au lieu de 3 et tu verras que c'est très simple. Je peux pas poster de lien sur YT alors va sur mon site et cherche sous "Cuboctahedron".
I could watch that many times and I don't think I would get it right. Is there any way I could learn to make one, perhaps a website that could show me step by step? Thanks for the great video also. Best Regards :)
Can you do a video on how to pronounce the last two words of this video???

That last unit took me a good half hour!
Nice demonstration video on this one :)

this is not a tetrahedron but a dodecahedron
gersonl 3 years ago
Nope, a dodecahedron has 12 sides, which are all the same size and shape.
This is a tetrahedron (4 sides), and since the corners are 'cut off' to reveal more faces it's proper name is 'Truncated' Tetrahedron.

Sorry I m french and bad in English...
But I think you've understood the question.
I searched and didn't found the inormation or "dodecahedron"; and in fact my question is: "how to put 4 modules (and not "bricks" sorry) instead of 3? How to change the angle of the module?".
thank's for your help!

at 0:36 did you fold the bottom right tip to the middle crease?

Yes, I'll repeat it again: it's much faster to look at the diagrams than ask.

On my site (origaminut dot com) the model is called dodecahedron, it's the same thing with more modules. YT doesn't allow links in comments, sorry.
origaminut 4 years ago
Is that not just a Trimodule...?
Chandota 4 years ago
The correct name is truncated tetrahedron, a trimodule could be a single module if that's what you meant.
origaminut 4 years ago
Yeah I meant each individual piece is called a "Trimodule"
