  • Hi, I have a Turnigy 9X what 1500, battery can I use to replace the AAA's? Help and what do I have to us it?

  • @Soldier53flyer Use the 9.9V LiFe battery (orange one) from HK. IT's cheap as beans and works really well.

  • Another job well done. Tnx

  • Many thanks Bruce. Very educative, & that is exacly the point! Newbie will not give up.... Thx! glad to see that I'm not the only old guy in RC... was questionning myself recently... Eric

  • Thanks Bruce. Snappy

  • Thanks for the vid, I have been charging my battery's at 1.0a (3s 2200mAh ) thinking that was 1c but now I realise it should be 2.2a. Got it all sorted now.

  • i love hearing you say " arse-e " all the time too

  • nice video, did you get your finger snapped by a prop by any chance? haha

  • Do you use EZcap to record your fpv flights?

  • Hi Bruce, Thanks so much for all the stuff on 4 button chargers, I did not know most of what you spoke about as there was NO instructions! How can we know unless we are shown or told, THANKS AGAIN!

  • Another excellent and very informative video!

  • Nicely explained. I always thought that the Set User section was a bit of an anomaly. As soon as I'd selected battery type all those settings flew out the window. Now I understand a bit more about the menu architecture. Thanks Bruce

  • Thanks for posting this video. I have a 4 button charger and as I read through the manual all I got was confused about the save data function. Your instruction was much clearer than the info in the manual. Thanks again!

  • I have 2 of these chargers. 1 I use just for LiFe and the other for LiPo so I don't have to change them back and forth. Very nice charger especially for the price.

  • Great information. Thanks for sharing.

  • nice work .... very good info ... have you had any of the buttons on yours play up? 1 of my buttons requires and excessive amount of force to activate the button.

  • good info.. tought i usually go faster just seleciting LiPo , 3S and capacity and go... its just some seconds

  • There's supposed to b a 12v b4 the 5a

  • I no now it now it needs a power supply I d ps6 5a 110/240v 50/60hz power supply ok

  • Can you plug these in r do they have to be hooked up to a car battery

  • You should also mention that Lipos need to be balanced every few charges.

I prefer to ballance every time though.

  • Hi Bruce

I like to use the temp probe with my Nimh batteries, I want to make up some more, can you use both the LM34 (Fahrenheit) and the LM35 (Celsius) temp sensor, the factory supplied probes come with a LM34.

    Thanks

  • Ive never really bothered with this part of my charger. Now I just might give it a go. Thanks Bruce.

  • Hello Bruce thanks for that info, I am going to purchase this charger, all I want to know is: What are the input voltage and amp requirement for said charger?

I have a 13.6v transformer which gives 5amp or 7ams short duty cycle. Would this be a suitable for this piece of kit? Cheers Hugh

  • @1stMrSceptical

Yes that would be ok, charging 4s+ lipos will be a bit slower though as the charger will have to bump up the voltage.

3s or lower will be normal speed though.

    I use a 15v 5 amp on mine.

  • Thanks a lot for the precious info

  • How do you know how many amps you need to charge it at?

  • @MrJED698 I did an earlier video that shows some of the basics like thus but basically, most lithium batteries are happiest if you charge them at 1C -- which means that (for example) a 2200mAH pack should be charged at 2.2A and a 1000mAH pack should be charged at 1A. Some more advanced batteries (like the Nanotech ones) can be charged at up to 5C (ie: 5A for a 1000mAH pack) but 1C is a safe rate for all.

  • @RCModelReviews Thanks Bruce, I just checked out the other 4 buttons charger video you have and it makes sense now. Your work is very helpful!

  • Based on your recommendation I also purchased one of these and I am very pleased. Thanks Bruce I now seldom use any other type of charger.

  • These type of chargers have a "LiPo Charge" and a "LiPo Balance" mode but both modes seem to do a balanced charge. You would assume the "LiPo charge" mode doesn't do a balanced charge but in my experience it does seem to. To be on the safe side I use the "Balanced" mode but I've always wondered what the actual difference is.

  • All these chargers are similar because they are based on the same integrated circuits. So this is a very useful video. I have the Hitec X4 charger which has 4 separate systems, all using this logic!

Bruce, which of the 4 button chargers are the most reliable/accurate/safe?

  • Hey Bruce, are you far off the Cheap FPV and Telemetry videos?

  • I may have missed it but you should do a video on how to calibrate this charger. I have this charger and I think it's excellent for what it does and you can't go wrong with the price either.

  • How come all these "four button chargers" are so similar - are they all based on the same software or even the same hardware?

  • Great as usual Bruce!

Please focus on all the interesting projects you started but never finishes ;).

    Fpv visor...

  • @jodde73 Don't worry -- I'm just clearing some space on my hard-drive by finishing off some of these older videos too.

  • i just ordered one of these.thank you.

  • kik you show as how to make a turban engine

  • @xdd231 LOL I would love to see a turban engine .......
