@supercooled ummm what? The Daytona Road Course was built to be a LeMans style track with long straights, high speed follow throughs as well as huge curving braking zones. Ferrari loved racing here so much they actually made a Ferrari Daytona

@McFly2015AD Sorry to come back to this but when you mentioned Le Mans, it automatically disqualifies a track like this. The only true Le Mans style tracks are of course, Circuit de le Sarthe itself, Spa and may be the old unbastardized Hockenheim Ring. This track is pretty neutered in my opinion. You just can't replicate the excitement generated by a seemingly endless vista of forestry as you're climbing upwards of 200mph. I don't know what it is about this track but it bugs me.

Yes they are at Daytona Speedway which is primarily an tri-oval track for Nascar. However they open up the infield for a road course during this 24 hour endurance race. I applaud you if you two had the attention span to read this comment.

I feel sorry for the guys who race in this series. Their biggest race is this and at the end of the race you hear one person clapping, usually the wife of a racer. It's quite pathetic really, there's no fan support whatsoever, not like in the ALMS

Its very strange that there are such a number of fans. I like it more than NASCAR, theres just too many circle races, they are all the same to me, I dont care about the differences in angle, even track length, whether they average 140 mph or 200, it still lokks the same. Its not easy so Im not saying its easy for you die hard fans. But this series has cool looking cars and great tracks, I know you cant see the whole track from one spot usually (Daytona I h=think you can), but dang.

@IchiTrois Not arguing, but I've been to the Rolex 24 at least a dozen times in the last 25 years including the last six or seven in a row and this was the biggest crowd I've ever seen, the infield was absolutely packed full... I think if you did some research you might find this is the third biggest sports car race in the country these days behind the 12hr Sebring and the Petit Le Mans at RA. Maybe it's because they get more than twice the car counts of ALMS, meaning better racing?
