I want to be excited since its so freekin beautiful but, I see no hints of a story of any emotional appeal. With stores,inns and non combative side quests gone is there nothing left but, hack and slash as quickly as possible?
After the mind numbing torture i went through for the platinum trophy Final Fantasy XIII all i have to say is no! i no longer want to see anything relating to these characters after having most of the dull story read to me in in the freaking MENU screen and not integrated in game-play itself ever again, the only Final Fantasy i will buy will be Versus which doesn't looked marketed to the "casual" masses only there is no turn based combat which i don't mind since FFXII (best world map)
@CirqueDuFreak2000 yes but the gameplay is better by most opinions unless you can prove me wrong then i will change my mind. I still do not like this type of gameplay its boring and puts people to sleep sometimes
@VulcanSugar Obviously, I cannot prove your OPINION wrong, you are entitled to think what you want. If you can give me one shred of proof that "most" people agree with you I might listen. I myself like both types of gameplay, but a lot of people can't stand the thought of a non-turn-based FFXV (I wouldn't really mind). That said, I know XIII may not be the best example, but have you ever actually played one of the originals? Not exactly the kind that puts people to sleep, if you ask me.
@CirqueDuFreak2000 yes I have it was fun for a while, and the nostalgia of a series gets me pumped because its a classic but at least add a little more freedom into the gameplay. And now there is a timer so its not really turned based any more. Yes turned based games are fun but they get boring after a while even if it is a classic. And after years of being a great title they should add more to a game thats been out for years.Im not saying turn it to COD but make it more fun.
@VulcanSugar Fair enough, you came off as sounding kinda stupid in your other comments but I can see your point now. I actually kinda agree, somewhat. I personally think the timer is what makes it more interesting because it forces you to think and make decisions quickly, and allows it to balance the strategy of turn-based gameplay and the franticness of action RPGs (not that I mind regular turn-based games, I think that if done right they can stay interesting throughout). I mean, they always do change up things with each new game, and this one has a very different combat system from previous games (I can't say if it's BETTER, but you should try it before you judge). That said, I wouldn't mind seeing some new twists. I'd say go action RPG like you suggested, except that action-RPG makes controlling parties harder. IMO, it should still be command-based with menus, but maybe more real-time.
@JenovaDoll I can respect that you don't like the game, but at least give VALID reasons for why it's bad, considering that:
1. Every game in the series is Japanese.
2. This particular trailer has no obvious "emo"ness, as far as I can tell anyway. Elaborate a little on what you mean and I might agree, but right now I'm assuming you don't even know what the word means.
