I was in Iraq. I agree with parts of his 'speech' (they are just people. ... just like us who have served). I disagree with almost the rest of it. When we're attacked again, just remember the part of his speech: the only people who fight back are just racist, they don't want to defend their property, their family, their country.

The government manipulated the market until the housing market came crashing down then said they'd save us. these soldiers aren't awake.

what constitutes truth?!!! How can you measure what is and what isn't? To watch this testimony and consider it of greater truth than that of others who disagree or offer an alternate view proves how close minded the audience is. An audience willing to hear only what it wishes to hear can not be trusted in discerning truth from lie.

I am not an American, I have lived the greatest part of my life outside the U.S and know that without the U.S the world would not be a better place.

@TicoToonice If everyone's opinion is equal then what is the point of saying anything? That is just a cop out. You also then contradict yourself by claiming that the audience cannot discern 'truth from lie'. How are these positions compatible? Either there is some sort of truth and we can discern the two - thus making certain opinions legitimate -, or there isn't and all opinions are legitimate.

@TicoToonice What matters is the evidence that backs up what you are saying. All knowledge serves particular human interests, whether we want to acknowledge it or not. In this case he is trying to utilize knowledge to promote the possibility of emancipation. As far as I can tell, he tries to rationalise the points he is making throughout. They are supported through reason.

It is difficult to deny that capitalism perpetuates structural violence on an unimaginably brutal scale...
