Why dont the opposition just ignore the haka and just pass the ball around between themselves. Or at the end just walk over to the All blacks and shake there hands or give them a big hug. take the pee and take the sting out of it.
@NothingButJack do you mean the best rugby fans or the best fans for any sport? i am surprised at your comment, it is widely held that Americans are the most enthusiastic and committed sports fans.
People say this is disrespectul...Its not. The Haka is a war dance, used to intimidate the enemy. The English were showing solidarity and meeting the challenge on the Kiwi's. Two great traditions meeting head to head. The Kiwis spoke of it after the game and said they loved it..."It added to an amazing atmosphere". Its not disrespectful, rather the opposite, recognising the importance of the Haka and meeting its standards is a sign of respect. This is rugby, not football. Lets keep it that way.
@DnBDaily totally agree but the thing that i dislike is the song choice considering sweet chariot was originally an african-american slave song i think there could of been a better song choice
It was the ignorant brits that came to other nations and told them what to do. They destroyed the potlatch the haka the native drums and artifacts the singing and dancing to the drum. They are a ignorant pestilantial impertinent people that have child molesting priests and enslave even their neighbors the Irish and the Scots. BUT NO MORE AND NEVER AGAIN FUCK YOU IMPERIALIST SWINE MAY YOU ROT IN HELL WITH ALL THE OIL THAT YOU STEAL!!! Singing against the HAKA is all you got left!! PISS OFF!!
@lilyeve222 its called theatre. i think it increased the drama of the haka even more than normal. just imagine the feeling felt by the english players, having 15 men wanting to take you blood with the support of 90000 wanting you to take theirs. it would happen anywhere else but on a rugby pitch.
@iiTrollCraft You try to get excited watching some of the crap England football manage to produce on a regular basis. Nowadays we are happy to lose 3-2 because at least the team sang the national anthem before the game...
@iiTrollCraft what you said is just utter bullshit because england have a football band who play through the whole game so you can hear more than a pin drop.
The English should have come out in Red coats, Bear skins, Muskets with Bayonet attached and shout.....HUZZAH, just after the Kiwis finish doing their gay little dance routine.
I don't even like the English, but this is their right. The right of the New Zealanders to do the haka (which I do see as rather unsportsmanlike despite the tradition of it) is no more valid than the right of the Brits to drown it out and mock it.
@PooPoo2U Your entire argument is rendered void because you mix "English" with "British". Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish are Brits, but none of us are English.
@KrllGojira: Uh, you're stupid. If one is only speaking of English and British they can be used interchangeably. I'm well aware Scots, Welsh, and Northern Irish are not English you fool, I AM Northern Irish, and your observation is irrelevant considering I made no mention of the Scottish, Welsh, or Northern Irish.
This Haka bullshit is fucking unfair...it's a call to war? Okay then, well fuck you too! And by the way I don't think anyone will die if NZ DON'T do it before matches...just play some fucking rugby.
this is a fucking disgrace, nothing cool or funny about what the english are doing. just disrespectful and frankly annoying as the haka is sick to watch/hear
Is the guy that posted this racist? hmmmmmm.. just 20 of them with speakers, but still over thousands and thousands of them, lets do the math if there were thousands of them without the sound enhanced by speakers lets see who wins :L
i have to do the haka in p.e... BUT WE MAKE IT SO BORING! instead of slapping our thighs like maniacs and screaming words, we have to do it quietly like rar. not ROARRRRRRRR!!! like rar. SO ANNOYING!
@tickner84 typical Australian cunts, terrible at everything except annoying every non Australian person they come across with their disgusting accent and shallow personality.
@ManicMammoth haha look at you whiney cunts go. I suppose you hate your cricketers now that they lost. Biggest bandwagon nation in the history of sport. PS - Pakistan are terrible. You should get off the bandwagon.
Is it not the culture in England for sports fans to sing? The Haka is a visual performance, you
you can't drown it out.The truth of the matter is that England fans have found a way to respond to the Haka in a respectful manner.I bet if you ask those All Blacks if they would rather perform the Haka in silence or that 'electric atmosphere' they would choose the latter.
i love how people are wondering why england fans sing a song when they aren't quetsioning why the New Zealanders do a silly dance making weird noises and faces slapping themselves
Drowning out the Haka brings out the fire in the All Blacks and most of the time the fire burns other rugby nations into submission. We do it our way. Kia Kaha Aotearoa!!
I am not english but i am proud of them, they may not have the haka but theres no need to be intimidated or whatever because you've got a roaring stadium of support!
can i ask why the hell do england sing swing low? wtf has an american slave song got to do with englands rugby team? whats jordan gotta do with england? other than the big titted jordan? why the hell do they sing it and whats the point in it as from what i can see it has nothing to do with england....
@rugbymaditd a song doesn't have to have anything to do with your country, but its spine-tingling to hear such a simultaneous outpouring of patriotism and support for our team. Now please keep your stupid little arguments to yourself.
@rugbymaditd because it is a song the English have since about 1988 to celebrate Chris Oti's 3 tries against Ireland. He was a player with african descent making his debut at Twickenham and the song came up in celebration of his ancestory. THAT is why it is sung at England games. Jordan - the country is to do with the holy land and general christendom and as England is a Christian country (officially) the song stuck with its dual meanings of religion and racial tolerance.
@rugbymaditd The Twickenham crowd had only seen one solitary England try in the previous two years and at half time against Ireland they were 0-3 down. However during the second half England scored six tries to give them a 35-3 win. Three of the tries came in quick succession from Chris Oti, a black player making his Twickenham debut. A group from the Benedictine school Douai started to sing a rugby club favourite in honour of their new hero and large sections of the crowd joined in
I don't see what is the problem. This is the English way of challenging the Haka. The french decided to advance in the finals and got fined. Absurd. If the All Blacks want to do their war dance, let them do it, but also allow the opposition to respond to it.
The Haka is like the trash talk before a World Wrestling what-ever-Federation match. Why does the other team even have to line up for the Sh*t talking? Nothin against great Kiwi rugby skills but who decided to let them do a Hawk-Khwa-Phuttweeit in the first place?
@ChannelMitchy13 Maybe players could have their actress slutty girl friends (not their real slutty gfs) come out and talk trash about the other team's actress slutty gf too. they someone could get mad take a swing and before you know it the rugby match has started.
Hey there Aussie here can you guys fill me in here why are you all angry at each other? Im not going to side with anyone considering England and New Zealand are very close to Australia. Come on a little friendly competition in cool (IE Australia vs new Zealand) but what im seeing in the comments section is ridiculous.
@TalbessTV Well clearly the All Blacks did not accept England's challenge. Why is it okay for them to challenge us, but not us to challenge them. That was England's way of saying 'Haha, bring it on!'. You can't say anything about it being a silly way to do that because look at the All Blacks' way of challenging people.
i like swing low sweet chariot, and i like god save the queen too, and also, i am english. but.. everyone's gotta admit the kiwi's fucking boss rugby, they totally own it xD go all blacks!<3
Ruining what moment? A moment of All Blacks taunting their opponents? How the fuck do people not expect this kind of reaction to it? The Haka was intended to scare their opponents, are we supposed to sit down with a cup of Tea and say mmm I admire them taunting us dear... Or should we wait our turn then taunt them back and expect them to stand and watch us and not 'ruin our moment'.
typical loudmouth english trying to ruin the moment instead of waiting their turn, they sound like retards.. The all blacks still slapped them in their pale faces big time, as always..
@vodderman I'm sure you've met every single Englishman and American in the world and thus based that assumption on solid fact, but then again I can clearly see the ignorant twat here is you and not the country you are from, also its a bit of fun it was disrespectful in the slightest.
the video was filmed from the crowd, with th audi closest to the fans, when you see it on TV i is recorded with a mic right where the camera man is.. so to be honest, NZ done a fucking good job on the vocals
@minimacca999 ... and callin' on the Lord to carry you away perhaps! LOL Those All Blacks are some scary tough lookin' dudes! I've just discovered this... and I love it!
Why dont the opposition just ignore the haka and just pass the ball around between themselves. Or at the end just walk over to the All blacks and shake there hands or give them a big hug. take the pee and take the sting out of it.
