  • @tonychopper2 Finlandia by Sibelius

hahahahaha How you can hate the sabre dance? xD

    it's a master piece of Aram x3

  • Me encanta :D

  • Stunning, magnificent piece...

  • I'll like to dance this piece in my wedding day. Beauty, strong, armony. I like it, definitively.

  • @BeautytifulTina really? you're right... It could be gorgeous program. But Asada skated very well too :)

  • We're using this for our ballet recital this year; we'll have masks and everything :) I got pretty excited when I heard it on the Olympics, hah.

  • spectacular!

  • marvelous!!!

  • where do u get the music from ??

  • We just received the music for this today. I'm so excited! This sounds beyond amazing!

  • oh no! it's a little too fast! :(

  • The waltz is of course a peach to make your mouth water , but particularly: this recording / uploading is of extraordinary quality, lovely deep bass on my Mac, no metallic sound.

  • My high school orchestra is doing this song! After the first time I heard this I loved it and couldn't wait to get it perfected! I play the 1st violin [A] part, and it's extremely fun.

  • coś cudownego

  • If you want this and 14 other all-time favorite Russian ballet highlights they're all to be found on "Ballet Russes" . A Virgin Classic CD conducted by Paavo Jarvi. As bigluca66 says if you like this you'll love Shostakovich's Jazz Suite Waltz No. 2. It also has the only version of "Dance of the Nights" where you can distinguish all of Prokofiev's minute changes to trombone notes throughout the omnipresent pounding bass background. Which never palls - even after a thousand hearings.

  • beautiful song!!!!!

    amazing waltz!!!!!!

  • Amazing....I can play this you know :))..on piano

  • ooh Beautiful!!! I can imagine it now

  • het mooiste klassieke werk dat ik ken, al ben ik geen allround classicfan. en deze mooie video (plaat), maakt me lyrisch !

  • it it viennese waltz!

  • what kind of waltz would go with this, though? lol it'd have to be a really fast one... or does like one waltz work for every waltz song? erm... humm... well anyway i don't know much about waltzing DON'T KILL ME! AHHH

  • Perhaps a Viennese Waltz

  • i love this song! i feel like it's laughing at me in a way!

  • Maravilloso, tiene la fuerza , la pasión y el sentimiento del autor.

  • So beatiful ! I love it =)

  • well thank you! :P

  • A Masterpiece!!!!

  • awesome! i'm trying to convince my gf to make this waltz our wedding dance. anyone wanna help? :D

  • by all means, you should dance this waltz at your wedding. It is beautiful... every time I hear I have to dance... it is absolutely divine, you will remember it forever

  • That would be really difficult, but really impressive! It's so fast!

  • i know, but practice makes it.... well not perfect, but bareable (:

  • If you love this piece, watch youtube video of Russian skaters: "Klimova & Ponomarenko Masquerade Valtz 1993." Elegant harmony.

  • When i hear this piece I think of a king who is watching people dance, while people are getting in position to assassinate him. Why assassination i don't know but it seemed like it fit the mood:)

  • i felt the same too when i first listened this song !

  • and they say that perfection does not exist

  • ahh yes! my orchestra is playing this next year. ITS So dramatically sinister. i love it.

  • alyssa?

  • HEY ISSS JOHN FASANO

  • I played this with my orchestra yesterday.

  • is it difficult?

  • Hahahaha. My orchestra conductor had people waltz while we were playing this during rehearsal.

  • Great Armenian composer!!!

  • Thank you. I'd forgotten how nice this piece is. Believe I first heard as a child near the Seattle Space Needle (music accompanied synchronized water fountains) - wonder if that is still there?

  • Marvellous,stupendous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Perla.

  • Long Live the Czar of Russia!

  • What has czar of Russia (which one, btw) has to do with the music of a Soviet composer, Armenian , who grew up in Tbilisi, Georgia ?????

  • what has the csar to do with anything?

  • I played that in an orchestra, it's shit easy

  • 真央ちゃんのフリーではじめて知りました*

    今ではお気に入りの曲です♪♪

  • this is just an amazing piece!!

  • Fantastic. ......thanks:))

  • this is perfect balance of spirit and mood and energy...dance everyone dance!!!

  • yes, dance!

  • i love this music. it is one of my favorites

  • awesome stuff. In fact its beyond awesome! So powerful!

  • Don't know about this recording. In 1975 (or 76?) I went to K's concert in Albert Hall, London with LSO. EMI/HMV recorded and released some of his works around that time. It is probably among the best that there is. "K conducting K". It doesn't get much more original than that.

  • Excellent version!!

  • we're using this for a ballet at my ballet school. It very captivating to dance to. You really want to throw yourself in the movement and exaggerate (spelled that wrong) everyting. Its perfect for what we're doing. its a circus kind of thing.

  • Spelt right!!

  • I'm cellist in my school orchestra and I think it was the most beautiful music I have ever play with orchestra ; )

  • It reminds me of the sublime decadence of Tsarist Russia, however, it written in 1944 by Aram Il'yich Khachaturian, who is probably more famous for his ballet 'Spartacus' (the main theme better known to those from the UK as the theme tune to the 'Onedin Line'), written in 1956.

  • except that Aram K. is not Russian, but an Armenian.

  • luve this song, first time i heard it is from an ice dancing couple krylova/Ovsyannikov of russia and now mao asada, fanstic stuff:)

  • Please tell me

who is the conductor and orchestra of this music

  • Fantastic. Was used for Mao Asada's performance.

  • When I hear this song i see movie "War and peace" form 2006

  • i see eyes wide shut

  • Was this in the film Eyes Wide Shut?

  • I believe you mean the Shostakovich piece

  • this is Khachaturian

  • There's something ellegant and wild about this song and I really love it!!!

  • Beautiful Armenian music. My favorite piece by far. Jan Aram

  • it has such a haunting yet calming feel to it. an absolute brilliance to it.

  • I played this piece in an orchestra at a music camp, you have no idea how amazing it feels to be play this piece... It moves you, and you can feel it.

It's got to be one of my favourite pieces..

  • nmc?!

  • NMC (Y)

  • :O NMC forever! i loved this song, GO SECOND BASSOON :P what section were you in?

  • I was in the bass section :) (as in string bass, not generally low-pitched intruments section)

  • The director of the next film adaptation of Anna Karenina should definitely consider this piece for the ball scene.

  • HOLY GOD, i believe this may have knocked out a Tchaikovsky piece, for my all time favorite piece of music ever. I love you bachnertrpt.

  • when i hear this i think of think of 2 ppl of royal decendence(european) who come from 2 totaly opposite families coming together to dance in a ballroom whilst everybody watches

    from both families shocking everyone

  • magnifique

  • God I love this song. Personally it reminds me of some royal king's power being destroyed by some unknown opposing force.

  • I absolutely love this piece. For me it is like the story of some old woman that use to be young and her past destroyed her or something.
