Haha, guess I was just so enamored with everything going on onstage, but I NEVER noticed there was a curtain back there hiding the lift until now. :P This is a pretty amazing video, you've done a beautiful job! The set looks so much like the real thing!
@IlMutoPHANTOMfan I use a program called Blender. It's freeware and you can download it at blender.org. It's a great program and you can do almost anything with it. Make sure you make a donation so it can continue to be free to everyone.
@greengoblin200 There is a split in the curtain that allows the platform to stick out. In my video I have slightly exhadurate the split and the curtain actually looks like this: _
______/ \______
The platform sticks out from the hole in the curtain.
@greengoblin200 Actually the lift does stay completely behind the curtain, however the curtain actually goes up WAY before it does in this video. It usually happens during the final "I hope you're happy"...before she ever runs back.
@HollaceJ This is to the mechanics of the Australian production. The 2 hooks stick out in a slit in the curtain with the platform. And the curtain goes up at that time.
When your watching the show. Close your eyes before blackout, get your eyes used to the darkness behind your eye lids and once blackout occurs, open your eyes and you can see quite a lot.
@murdoch1818 So during the AHHHHHH bit at the end, close ur eyes so ur used to teh darkness, and then when the blackout occurs open them and u can see what happening? i'll try that next time, but what do u actually see?
@gemzn You'll see everyone scambling to get behind the curtain before it closes. And see the mechanical lift start taking Elphaba back quick and going down.
I always thought that when she started saying "and nobody, in all of oz", that the lift slightly ascended and moved forward.

It's Funny Because When You've Seen The Show as many times as i have you're used to seeing and looking for what's going on after the black out.
