If you've thought about reality and the workings of your own mind with any kind of depth, then you'd realize a lot more in all of their lyrics than just what they are at the most basic level.

It's not about a woman or sex or any of that. If you've listened to the lyrics of all of Oracular Spectacular, then you'd probably realize that nearly everything is a metaphor. It's about 1. tripping, and 2 (which should come about as a result of using tripping to grow as a person) learning how to control your own mind, and thus your reality. "This is what the world is for--making electricity"--brain activity is nothing but electrical impulses.

I agree. I just decided to make this more friendly to other audiences with my verses, while still keeping the abstract aspects of MGMT intact. But the effects on the many layers of my vocals, when listened to on high quality and high volume, will add to the experience of tripping. My vocals are bouncing all over the place.
