It shows to me ''The following list shows the existing partitions and unpartitioned space on this computer. to install press enter, to create a partition to unpartitioned space press c, to delete the chosen partition press d'' and then it shows me the partitions. @superpisetaaccount you have to insert the disk right when u turn on the tower..don't wait for it to go to the start menu..insert it before the windows xp logo comes out

@123killerver You WILL NOT need a key if you're doing a repair. Only if you're reinstalling the whole OS you will need a key. If so, then make sure its the same OS and then just type in the key from YOUR computer.
when i try to reboot my pc something says: REBOOT AND SELECT PROPER BOOT DEVICE or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key... help please

I had to run a repair about 5 days ago. I'm just now getting back up to speed. When I bought the computer I had movie maker, but I deleted it, after the repair I have movie maker again. I also have a different version of WMV, it's taking some getting used to. It saved almost all of my programs and files other than that. you need to run it before windows starts... you can't access exe files without an OS running, and it's not an exe file, it's a data disk with autorun codes

@123killerver You WILL NOT need a key if you're doing a repair. Only if you're reinstalling the whole OS you will need a key. If so, then make sure its the same OS and then just type in the key from YOUR computer.

Great tutorial man, but better than repairing your old windows XP I'd try to move on to Windows 7.

I run the repair but now I am being asked to complete installation. After a repair and complete installation, will it delete my pictures and personal stuff that I have on my computer?

I had to run a repair about 5 days ago. I'm just now getting back up to speed. When I bought the computer I had movie maker, but I deleted it, after the repair I have movie maker again. I also have a different version of WMV, it's taking some getting used to. It saved almost all of my programs and files other than that. I still have my pics, utorrent, realplayer, music files, etc. I had 5 viruses one morning, there were no icons on my desktop, nothing just the background pic.

PLEASE..............I went to recovery my Dell GSX270 with the Recovery Cds,Its says "NVRD.32 SYS file missing , Hit any key to restart,Its does it 2 times then brings up a screan that has "Windows XP Profesional and Windows Xp Profesional Setup" i have to highlight the top one to get it to restart...Any help will be GREATLY APPRECIATED Sincerely Eyan of South Carolina

@tehaklshow Alright I dont know, but I just Done whatever it was to Partition 1 and then my Home Edition was working again, but when I start up my computer I have 2 selections.

@Davidmadis786 idk i dont have the disk either and my computers slower than EVERYBODIES IN THE WHOLE WORLDs computer lol but i think i gots a virus and im looking for my boot c.d. if you find it it takes everything off and checks it for ANY errors.. ur welcome

I have a problem My laptops Hard Drive did't work so we took it out got a new one and this is a American Laptop and we put a British Hard Drive in it is their a connection between these two or am I using a wrong C.D... Or is my Laptop just (beep) with me?

Well, if you can't start your computer AT ALL, how exactly can you GET* to the CDROM? I tried f8 at the first screen, but it automatically goes to file missing or corrupt windows\system32\config\system ... Any suggestions? Been like this for months now :(

ich will meine systemdateien erneuern aber den andern kram beibehlten. ist das hier dafür gedacht? denn wenn ich die schritte durchführe, sagt er mir dass dabei eigene dateien verloren gehen könnten. abgesehn davon zeigt er mir ab 0:23 nicht mehr den screen an wie hier gezeigt, nach dem lizenzvertrag fragt er mich, ob ich eine partition erstellen,, löschen oder in einer der festplatten xp installieren möchte, die möglichkeit r für reparieren habe ich nicht.

This does not delete your files and completely restore your computer. It only restores windows files :D yay

Can somebody please answer this important question? Does this completely delete your files or does it just fix the windows folder? I'm already half way through with it so eiter way it's too late but this is important to know. I'll let you know what happens...

@TurkishPlayBoyStyla Yo dude do u still need help with pc i can help you, so it seems like you have completly reinstalled windows and that is y ur internet aint workin, what u have to do is install the ethernet driver , u probably need a drivers cd with ur computer if u don't have that cd then you can burn it on a cd from yours computers website from ur other pc, if you atill need help just pm me and u will also have to install the sound drivers so u can listen to music u also lost stand by?

won't work.
you need to run it before windows starts... you can't access exe files without an OS running, and it's not an exe file, it's a data disk with autorun codes
