These are not comparable because "alcoholic," by definition, specifically describes someone who has an unhealthy and self destructive relationship with the activity involved, that differentiates them from the many other people who enjoy the activity without ill effect, and thus drink alcohol regularly without being an alcoholic.
So that would only be comparable to homosexuality if you believe that men who have sex with other men, regularly but in moderation, are not gay.

In addition to everything you just said, it's important to point out that "Christopher Street Boys" in a contemporary context are mostly homeless mostly black and Latino LGBT youth who hang out on the pier and the Starbucks on Christopher street, who have been kicked out of their houses and communities. And our community choses to keep on ignoring and harassing and making off hand misinformed comments like that one and people are homeless and dying.
