  • For the record that map is wrong. The Romans held territory across the Rhine and a good part of Bavaria for centuries.

  • Why are Germans in denial about history? The Germans never kicked Roman arse. I have read three books on Roman history and every time the tribes- not german- attacked Romans, the Romans retaliated and created complete destruction. What is Germany's problem? It's fact. There were instances when tribes attacked Roman outposts, but the Romans always put the tribes in their place. The only battle where Roman legions were massacred is when Varus took a shot. Idiots, accept Romans were tougher.

  • The remains of Zwarte Peit...

    Bo-ii and boar-ii...

  • History is largely a bunch of bullshit.

But the Germans kick ass no matter what.

    Silly Roman 'speshul forces dudes'....

crying like little girls when they realize they are being killed by a 12 yr old.

  • that girl just needed some handsome dick

  • Goths and vandals sacked Rome when it was a city state, it never had a full blown army at that stage, so it is easy to sack a city when there is no protection to defend it, right?

  • Another thing. At the time the Roman Empire was planting Latin roots in Europe, German territory was very dense forest and Romans were not able to clear or cut down the timber due to threats from small tribes that were well accustomed to dense forest battles. Romans fought out in open spaces, that was there battle strategy, the barbarians fought in close proximity and within small confines, something the Romans were not aquainted with.

  • Rome was not interested in Germania. Has it occured to Germanic nationalists that Rome could have gone further in to German territory? Roman interest stayed in Western Europe, not Eastern Europe. Germany is East of Western Europe

  • @Johnnystrychnine germanic nationalists? never even heard of those words put together! What are you then, a roman nationalist? lol

its all just war isnt it?

  • The teutorborg forest incident was a set up. Roman legions destroyed germanic tribes on many occasions. I think It was Varus? that lost a whole legion in a forest that was well set up and lived in by Germanic tribes. The Germans could only beat Romans when the Romans were set up. The Germans were afraid of the Romans. The forests were too dense for the Romans to possess because the Germanic tribes set up traps. But face to face battle Romans kicked Germanic butts.

  • Tak for at oplade en god program.

Ja [yea], vi er alle Germanske op her. Vi ha(ve)r så mange ting fælles - "samme" humor, lige kulturer, fine folk som drikker øl (!) og 'liker' en god sang.

Thanks for uploading a good program

Yes, we are all Germanic up here. We have so many things in common - "same" humour, (a)like cultures, fine folk who drink ale and like a good sang.

Hav en god dag [daygh!] :o)

  • @Bjowolf2

"... and like a good song", of course ;-)

  • im from Hibernia [Ireland] we alwys stood outside the empire thats y we r so diffrent from europe to this day.

  • Damn the Romans for the Genocide on the sons of the North.

    Hail Germania!

  • little italians beat the crap out of tall germans

  • @cuzcatlan36

The romans dared crossing the rhine only once and got massacred. the germans razed Rome(the capitol) several times.

  • @Powersnufkin That's not true, Julius scesar built a bridge in six days, crossed it, massacred some germans, went back, and burned the bridge. After that, many more excursions into German territories happened, one of which was desastrous for the romans, the tuttorberg? forest incident. Yes, germanic tribes sacked rome several times, but for every invasion, there was an equal response into germania.

  • @Powersnufkin It was sacked because Rome was barely a town. It didn't even have an army. And the times it was sacked it was with the coordination of numerous nationalities or ethnic tribes. One case was during the luther edict. When the papacy was overthrown. I don't know my dates exactly but it may have been the 14th or 15th century. The overthrow involved Italians, Gemanics, Spaniards and If I am correct, the Dutch. It wasn't just the Germanics.

  • @Johnnystrychnine "14th or 15th century." what sort of joker are you? noone asked you for your opinion, so keep you stupidness to yourself.

  • @swunt10 I didn't ask for your opinion either, did I? Joker.

  • @Johnnystrychnine go and fuck your self. italian mama fucker. don't waste my time i've got important youtube things to do^^.

  • @swunt10 I will take you on any day or night. Proud to be Italian! and proud to kick your butt. Bring it on, fucker.

  • @Johnnystrychnine what do you want to bring on? your debts? LOL go away!!!

  • @swunt10 I want your German slave to bring your head on a platter to me so I can have a close inspection at how butt ugly you are. LOL go away!!!

  • @Johnnystrychnine the fact is, the tribes still sacked their capital. THEIR CAPITAL FFS! and they were even afraid of them in open battle, but they still threw all their men into battle and thats how they always win, by numbers. but even when a number of them get slaughtered their leader gets scared and decides to recruit their mercenaries because they were in fact, much better warriors. rome may have been the biggest, but certainly most failing nation too.

  • @Naafalilargus When is was not a capital and when it was merely a colony. It didn't even have an army. They were not Germans anyway. Got scared? Are you on halluconogenics?

The Empire controlled most of Souther Bavaria and the River Elbe crossings, why do you think Cologne, Regensburg, Mainz are Latin names? Check your facts. It was only the Varus battle where Romans got their butt kicked because the sneaky tribes ambushed them. Most of the time Romans kicked germanic tribes butt.

  • @Johnnystrychnine Well, i will admit that our germanic ancestors were not the smartest, i'll give you that. but they were one of the, if not the most, fiercest warriors of their time. and yes they got scared, when large bearded men came up against them, but romans are like orcs, they never cease to exist and they always come in larger numbers. i'm not suprised why they won. but they still had their main capital sacked later by several others too...

  • @Naafalilargus You are in in denial pal. Please go away and pay your debts like your Germanic counterpart stated to me. His name is SWUNT10. LOL go away!!!

  • @Naafalilargus For the record the only arse Germany kicked ever and I mean ever in history is during WW2. You had the Fins, Hungarians, Lithuanians and Romanians to kick others butts. Germany is just a geographic expression. Nothing more nothing less. Without The Romans-Italians, and Greeks throughout history you would still be living in caves. Read more on Roman and Italian history and reply to this statement when I ask you to, understand? Not now. In two years time. Run along, you and SWUNT10

  • @Johnnystrychnine

take this Line so serious like a Asterix Movie

  • @zer0nable You are right. the Germanic tribes did sack Rome a couple of times, sack means pillage and depredations, not the take over of Rome. I accept Germanic tribes were good brave fighters, you are. But to claim the Romans were scared of Germanic tribes is laughable. Even when Romans were beaten they still returned to Germanic provices and showed them they were not to be toyed with. Oadcer became Emperor with the assistance of a mixture of tribes. Gemanics also governed Rome. That's history.

  • @Powersnufkin Thats stupidly wrong...

  • @Powersnufkin several? Wasn't Rome only razed only 4-5 times in over 1200 years

  • @cuzcatlan36

but they never could hold germany .. too many kicks in the roman ass

  • @zer0nable wrong not the reason ,

  • @zer0nable What is this right wing propaganda? Face up to the reality, a quarter of Western Francia-modern day W.Germany was under Roman control for centuries. And Southern Bavaria was Roman too. What is your problem? Romans never kicked German butt? What Halluconogenics are you on?

  • @zer0nable The dense forest protected the tribes and Romans were not able to clear the forests because the Romans were ambushed every time they attempted to clear the forests as they did in Spain and Francia. Not because they were scared of Germanic tribes. In your dreams they were scared. LOL move along now to the next serious statement.

  • @cuzcatlan36

    Not for very long ;-)

The Goths and the Vandals were also of Germanic stock - they even sacked Rome

several times and occupied it fully some time in the 400's.

And then there was of course Teutoburger Wald in AD 9, where a whole Roman

legion vanished, never to be heard of again.

  • @Bjowolf2 What really did the romans was themselves, too corrupt and depraved, and they just ran out of people, way too many wars for about a 1000 years.

  • @cuzcatlan36 callate guanaco...anda escucha cumbias mejor maje.

  • @BESTIACRUEL8 eso de las cumbias han de ser de honduras porque nosotros no tenemos nada autoctono. lo que si tenemos un ejercito listo para darle lecciones a catrachos mal educados.
