I don't think anything a politician says or does is unrelated to their re-election effort. That will always take priority in everything they say or do. It is the reason the country is in debt, it is the reason taxes are so absurd and the reason the good of the corporations takes precedence over what actually makes sense. If politicians didn't require re-election their best efforts would be to the right thing. And it won't change as long as there is blind adherence to the word Democracy.

What about studies that say Corporations only pocket their tax savings and only use them to inflate their profit margins? Again it all comes down to where is the money coming from, the middle to poverty class? Or we eat into a corporations profit margin and provide them with stable infrastructure and market to peddle their wares to.

I don't think anything a politician says or does is unrelated to their re-election effort. That will always take priority in everything they say or do. It is the reason the country is in debt, it is the reason taxes are so absurd and the reason the good of the corporations takes precedence over what actually makes sense. If politicians didn't require re-election their best efforts would be to the right thing. And it won't change as long as there is blind adherence to the word Democracy.

Regardless, its all about the return, so taxing corporations less on the money they earn keeps and attracts business to this country which keeps/provides JOBS and thats the bottom line. Would the 2.5 million unemployed (7.7 % last I read) complain if their taxes didnt go down? Unemployment is dropping last I read. Outsourcing is bad enough, why make it worse?

The Conservatives won more votes than any other party..2X. Learn how to count. Neo-Liberal spending from any political side is what got the world into recession in the 1st place. Fiscal conservatives (Harper), even Paul Martin, though a Liberal was fiscally conservative. Thankfully the NDP or Bloc is not running our country. We'd end up without any international competitiveness. The Left have generated Right brain dominant methodology in their neuro-marketing. Harper is the best so far! :-)

wow i never figured someone could have such a gross misunderstanding of our current financial crisis particularly when it has been covered so much by this point. cheap money caused this boom and crash just like it did many times before in history. couple that with leftist attitudes toward wealth redistribution in the form of welfare and other types of subsidies and changes in home ownership ratios, and your liberal state has created economic wreckage. just wait for 2012, the real fun begins.
