Very good - but you left something very important out.

While Lincoln was enacting the EC -- he was also pushing the 13th Amendment. As Im sure this speaker knows, Linclon personally got 13th Amendment on the GOP platform in 64 -- when he thought that would END his political career.

Then when reelected, Lincoln PERSONALLY got 13th Amendment passed it the House, by heroic means, where it was badly stuck. And if THAT weren't enough his death caused the 13th to be ratified by the states.
