So technically Ruiz and Valuev were a paper champion! However, if I agree with you or 'Passonthetruth' for the sake of argument that Valuev was the real champ, but then that was back in 2005! Then It's just like what you said(passonthetruth) that Valuev was a paper champ(in 2009) because he never ever won back the WBA belt since he lost it in 2007(to Chagaev)! Valuev even look like he got beat up by a 50years old Holyfield prior to the Haye fight!

Haye does have that snideyness about him and most probably did screw him over. However, even Booth said in a recent interview that to be a successful pro you have to be a spiteful person.
Maybe Haye took it to heart.
ps. I had a feeling Audley would get a late stoppage and he did. If he could man up like that for EVERY round then, while Audley is a big mouth, I think he still has the tools to trouble Vlad, he just needs to get dirty and man up. He's been WAY too pampered right from the start.

That was back in 2005 when Valuev was undefeated and in his prime! Funny enough in 2005 when Valuev beat Ruiz, Ruiz also got beat up by a fat, old middleweight fighter called James Toney(just before the Valuev fight)! James Toney actually won the WBA title, but then got stripped of the title when he tested positive for steroids! According to Toney, he was on medication! Only God knows the truth, but the facts were that Toney beat Ruiz with just a few weeks notices!

Personally, im glad the WBA did not allow the title to be put on the line against the Klitchkos. For once, i think that the corruption in boxing worked out well for the fight fans.
Klitchko v Haye is the only heavyweight fight on the horizon to get exited about.
Chagaev is a warrior and will be back to claim whats rightfully his! Hopefully he will get a shot at Haye soon.

It took harrison 8 years being professional to get a european title shot and in two years as a heavyweight haye has won the belt and made a defence. Haye has backed up the majority of his promises, harrison has backed up none.
