@patfealy I don't know if that's entirely right. I also thought that the Aztecs were brutal and primitive but that's all that you hear in the media. They actually had a very complex and intelligent culture. For us to say that what they did was wrong is a bit contradicting because when the Spanish came they murdered, raped and stole, all throughout Mexico and Peru and tried to force the natives to believe in Catholicism. So in reality the Spanish weren't any better than the Aztecs for killing.

Some intelligence may have awoken from the part of a culture that understands the world as filled with gods that need to be fed, respected and pleased. Bloodletting exists in hundreds of world tribes and cultures. The clip stated there was far more blood letting than actual sacrifices, but the sculptures and friezes they have found clearly depict sacrifice. The Aztec culture was an intense philosophy. Blood and flowers, thats hardcore. Fear and beauty in the most intense obvious places.

The fact that historians claim there was so much sacrifice is bullshit! This was a way for Euro-Spanish to distract their own crimes of genocide against our people!

The clip states intelligence is awoken in a culture that is awake to beauty and death, blood and flowers. It says the body was a flower in spring time that will open and blossom and then die. That is a form of philosophising. Life and death go hand in hand. You say the Aztecs had no notion of Gods to be appeased, have you concluded this from evidence (sculptures, archealogical remains) that you have witnessed first hand? Historians are not in a league, they have different views.
