  • Favorite Colognes I can pull off: Nautica Voyage Chanel Allure Sport L'eau D'Issey Pour Homme ADG Lacoste Essential Clinque Happy For Men* Kenneth Cole's Reaction* Hollister's Jake* Le Male :P Straight up Vanilla. and I'm going to test out Versace Eau Fraiche. A good unisex perfume is DG light blue btw.
  • hey... what cologne do you love on men??

  • I agree 100% with you! Wear whatever the hell you like! I ignore who it's geared to and I get whatever I like!

That being said, I'd say women have a better selection. If 100 colognes come out in a year 95 of them allllll smell the same. It's as if the designers are too afraid to think outside of the box and go with the UBER masculine smell. Most Men don't want to smell any other way

  • @JloveLamar The good news is that several of niche lines (L'Artisan, Malle, Comme des Garcons, Lutens) abandon gender marketing altogether. Of course, some of the fragrances are more feminine or masculine, but they leave it to the consumer to decide. Shame about the monotony in men's fragrances. BUT! I feel that for every good woman's fragrance released, there are 10 sweet fruity florals, you know?

  • I find it hilarious that you're jealous of all the variety of fragrance us men have :D It reminds me of myself when I'm in a clothing store and there's only a small section for men ... and most of the store's space is for women. lol

  • @flammingcarrot excellent point. it's a trade-off i guess

  • I've only worn Tobacco Vanille around the house. I like putting it on before I go to bed. You might find it a little too masculine for public wear. And do let me know what you think of White Aoud. The initial blast can be a little rough, but it does calm down quickly and I get hours of wear from it.

  • @181lajo Both Tobacco Vanille and White Aoud Samples are en route. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll write you as soon as I form my opinion!

  • Here's a list of colognes that I think I pull off fairly well:

Dolce and Gabanna The One for men

    Bvlgari Black

    Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille

    The Dreamer

Bijan Nude for men( inexpensive and lightweight)

    L'Eau d'Issey pour homme

    Acqua di Gio

You mentioned that you enjoy rose in fragrances. One that I like during the fall and winter months is Montale's White Aoud. It's one of my comfort scents.

  • @181lajo I LOVE wearing bvlgari black. And you're the second person to recommend Tobacco Vanille to me. I'll have to check it out for sure. And you're like the fifth to recommend either black or white oud. A sample is on the way and I'll be sure to tell you what I think :)

  • Enjoyed this video! It's nice to hear a woman's perspective on this subject. With so many perfumes seemingly geared towards the very young ( screeching fruity florals), I've started wearing quite a few of my husbands colognes.

  • @181lajo I'm so glad to hear it! Please give me any tips on fragrances that translate well on a woman. I'm always open to suggestions.

  • Great video! I love your take on fragrances evoking memories. This is a major factor in my fragrance addiction. I love getting a whiff of a fragrance (or even a specific note) and being instantly transported to a specific even/time period in my life. For instance- whenever I pass a Clinique counter (specifically, when I smell Clinique Happy) I *instantly* think about the 90s/being younger. While I'm not too fond of the actual scent, I love the memory it evokes. Thanks for posting~

  • @knics33 Oh god, yes. Clinique Happy. Every boy in my middle school/high school smelled like Cool Water. And all the girls smelled like Clinique Happy.

  • Great Video and I actually didn't know about you either but now I do! I plan on watch all of your videos very soon. Thanks for taking the time and your womanly input to this subject matter.

  • @CutlassSupremeSL haha!! I love that I get to have "womanly input." :) So if you don't like women's fragrances (or rather, don't like the way lots of women wear them), what do you like to smell on a woman? I'd love your manly input on the matter. :)

  • @ariscotm I don't like all the overly floral stuff it gives me and headache and I cant breath. I don't know of many women perfumes but these are the ones I know the names to that I like:

    -Armani Code

    -D&G Light Blue

    -Viva La Juicy

    -Ralph by RL

    -Angel Woman

    -Alien

-JPG (dont know the name its a clear and red bottle)

I really don't know what I like on a woman but when I smell it I know it. I just know that most of the time I get a whiff of way too much of something I don't like.

  • @CutlassSupremeSL I'll have to go smell Alien again. The notes intrigue me, but last time on my skin I didn't like it. Although, at the time, I had like 5 other fragrances on, so I think I need to try it on its own. :)

  • @CutlassSupremeSL I love light blue...its not flowery at all

  • fragrance aroma has physical and psychological effect on who is wearing it .

fragrance is connected to mood of happiness, stimulation, relaxation and sensuality

and i think that the stress of beautines in womens life and the perfume magic effect on changing the psychological mood one of the reasons of over applying.

  • So are you saying that when a woman is stressed about her appearance--let's say, something which is unchangeable like wrinkles, she "overcompensates" by spraying more perfume on?

this is really an interesting argument. the scent both compensates and has a psychological effect.

I have a strong feeling that my first roommate in college did this.

  • it can be physical or psychological over compensation.

and i agree with you about men under 18 and over 40 and i can say that, teen men trying to say here i am by over applying the fragrance at the same time to send a message to the other sex thats i care and i'm sensual and happy.

and IMO mens over 40 trying to compensate too by over applying.

over applying is to keep the aroma of great pleasent psychological feeling around as long as possible and peoples nose immunety against the smell.

  • @MrRa80 Oh man, I totally agree. I have a fragrance that I used to wear ALL the time. It was an armani special edition Night She. Guess what? It was a floral fruity musk!!! But after a while of wearing it all the time, I found I could no longer smell it as well and would spray more to be able to smell it. So my immunity made me guilty of over-application for sure.

  • Appreciate your take on this question--or should I say two questions. 1-Men vs Women frags, 2-Why do people wear frags. I did a video response to the first question but not the second. perhaps I will--LOL

  • thanks! :)
