hmm if you notice(like i do hahahha) that in the 90's her voice was you know deep, smoldering, soulful, adn a little undeveloped. in this one however, she has more star-power, her voice changed so it sounds high(when she's a true alto), past it's prime so it's really developed, still soulful(but in my op. her voice was more soulful when she was younger) and more finely tuned. as you can hear her whistle here, even though it was the same note as the old one, sounded more resonant and clearer.
