no... the original planes walkers are Tefferi and Mishra. Planeswalkers have only recently become a big deal. Limdul and Gusta Effisdotter were only powerful mages in the Ice Age of dominaria. The original planeswalkers and others from the story dont even have planeswalker cards with the exception of Nicol Bolas.

@DerangedSun Teysir was the first "big name" planeswalker, the one from the Arabian Nights comics. Teferi was a planeswalker from Mirage, and then Urza from Antiquities was retconned into a planeswalker for the Weatherlight/Rath/Urza's Saga storyline.

For Ice Age, Freyalise was the heroic planeswalker and Leshrac, Walker of the Night and Tevesh-Szat, the Doom of Fools were the patrons of the mortal necromancer Lim-Dul. Planeswalkers have always been important, just not on cards or advertising.

i was hoping lim would dark ritual into necropotence but all he did was cast some scathe zombies :P and what was with her using blue an ally to black against him? when she was in the woods of Freyalise which is green and blue's enemy. Cool watercolorish effect though and neat to see esp since i started at 4th/Ice age and those are my earliest memories of the game. Binding Grasp Bitches!

Blocks....did not exist when Ice Age was released, later through a RetCon, Ice age was defined as the first block.

@Amboolicious "Standalone" sets are basically the large expansion sets, so yes, modern Blocks of Sets consist of the large "Standalone" set, followed by the smaller sets in the block. Early MTG simply had the Core Set, and then single Standalone sets. Arabian Nights, Antiquities, Legends, The Dark have no corresponding Block Sets. The first Block was indeed Ice Age, followed by Alliances.

@Amboolicious Homelands was just another standalone set previously unreleased, and no longer fit the paradigm of releasing sets, so they shoehorned it in, and continued releasing Blocks with Mirage. 10-11 years later, in 2006, they reveal that the third set of Ice Age Block is actually Coldsnap, a set that had been "in the vault" since then, and revoking Homelands to its rightful place among "Early Sets" with no corresponding Block Sets.
