Hear hear. I have a friend who plays his squeezebox for his local Morris Dancing side. We found a poignant photo of the English Folk Dance Society's first official Morris side . Four out of the seven members died on the Somme.....
After he finished the tune not a sound was made by the audience. Their jaws were hanging open at the power of it. For myself and my fellow Living Historians this is essential listening. Powerful stuff that conveys with the utmost clarity the horrors of war. Country Joe didn't really want to revisit this, but the demand was too great. Especially for us as students of military history. This mustn't get swept under the rug.
Hear hear....The original album towers over almost everything else I've ever heard. I've returned to it regularly for nearly 40 years and it's never failed to uplift my spirits or raise my hopes about ...well everything really. That odd noise you can hear on the videos is the sound of my jaw dropping as I realised that witnessing Joe singing this live was one of the greatest concerts I could ever wish to be present at,
Well, I spent a good long while on my bicycle wondering whether to video The Man....or Jean Desprez. In the end I went for....The Man from Aphabaska (notice my spelling of this) which you can see on YouTube. I was then told that I should just have gone out and bought a larger card for my camera and recorded all of it....which I suppose makes sense. His manager said that the show was being recorded for possible release- I'm not sure whether he meant DVD or just the audio. All the Best
Yes, you're right. Joe's website has copies of "War War War Live" for sale, recorded in British Columbia. There's also a version of "Jean Desprez" on the "Live at the BOrderline" CD.

WAR WAR WAR is one of my favorite albums -- a brilliant concept. Powerful poems powerfully arranged and sung. And as relevant now as ever.

The audio. It's coming out soon, maybe it's already been released. On second thought, I think it was. Check out his website.

thank you so much for this! Do you know if there's video of him singing Man from Athabaska, or Jean Deprez? Thanks!
