  • Most of the times its all donE in purpose, its obvious. I think filmmakers require the auidance to notice them for unknown reasons.

  • The Reason You Get Continuity Errors Is because some scences are done at different times so sometimes things are out of place or the actor is in a different potion when the edit the scenes together they are noticed if you are looking but they just want to get the movie done

  • They were less concerned with continuity between shots, they were more concerned with the aesthetic of each shot.

  • Who cares about every tiny thing?

  • There's always gonna be continuity "errors" (as you so claim) in movies...you need to understand the hard work and dedication to the film the makers have, and what you lack is the appreciation for this work...

  • @TheMadVideoer How does he lack appreciation? He calls them pros and says that most of them were deliberate. You make no sense did you watch this or did you just comment?

  • @ethanforster

    Because he's nit-picking. C'mon!

Now yes, these are professionals and they should take more consideration in their work, but honestly...do you understand the hardships and strenuous work it takes to put together a movie? The makers don't have time to go through EVERY error. And even if they were deliberate, WHO GIVES A SHIT?!?!

It's a James Bond movie; ENJOY IT AND STOP CALLING OUT ERRORS!!!

  • definitely got autistic

  • Thank you for introducing me to the concept of deliberate cont. errors.

I've worked on films and know some can be honest mistakes, but now see how they can be used as a device. Or just to have fun with movie freaks to see if they notice.

I will have fun with this new knowledge. ;)

  • I actually made a video, about how Coninuity Errors are ruining my life...please check it out, its on my channel

  • its funny to think that you could be serious, if u are no serious its funny..if your serious, your just a nutter!

  • Crazy idea thinking that this is deliberate. There are more errors in old films because they didn't have video or 'instant' cameras (eg.Polaroid or digital) to help them keep track of costumes and action from scene to scene.

  • Look, mistakes happen, and whilst some of those shown here may be quite blatant (a whole record player suddenly appearing, or a close-up of a man without a tie who is supposed to be wearing one), the idea that the Director is inserting some clever subliminal message by an actor's hand being clenched or unclenched or a few inches forward or backward is just silly. The scenes were filmed more than once then edited together, and accidentally just weren't properly consistent. End of.

  • i totally agree, i think someone is trying to create an artform out of it and in doing so creating a specialist expert, who can write books and do this petty stuff on dvd`s!

im not going to "enjoy" looking at this as it distracts from why you are watching it in the 1st place! its just to silly for words, as nmlt5398 says, it was editing errors not some hichcock touch ( he was the master and only real subliminal messenger if ever this thing exsisted) someone simply didnt pay attention at work!

  • Thanks for the illuminating discourse. Sadly, I guess some of the other posters aren't familiar with such things as the Hayes Commission, HUAC, et cetera, et cetera.

  • This is just a joke. As if any would be deliberate. They just occur and who would have noticed before the age of video and DVD and now youtube? Don't beleive a word.

  • I find this whole "deliberate" continuity error tutorial completely absurd. Have you ever been on a movie set? Do you understand how these things are put together? Quite simply there can be days, weeks or *months* between shooting what look like continuous scenes. EVERY single *shot* can take hours to ensure lighting and cameras are in place. During that time it's quite likely that props get accidentally moved or even broken and replaced. There simply aren't "deliberate" errors.

  • @baffledboy like he said..."this is 1962"....no need to be a dick

  • "Hey, ya know what'd be a real chuckle? Move your hand over on the coffee table about four centimeters. Let's see who catches that one!"

I'm not quite sold that all of these errors are deliberate inside gaffs. Really, the lampshade may just look larger because the lens is right on top of it for the shot.

  • Very thorough. Thank you for the education.

  • Nice. I for one didn't realise that there were errors purposefully set into films :P not to that detail anyway. I'll watch out for them.

    Cool beans!

  • And you believe it now just because this guy says so?

  • i presume you are being sarcastic, because its just too silly for words, i found it boring and the comentator just trying to be an "expert" on something that isnt there!!!

i put my keys on the hallway stand, i came back they were not there, but in my back pocket! i had forgotten i had removed them,,,,my god! im a genius of the artform of a continurity error in my life!!!
