rhythm overload but very awesome to be able to coordinate and project on a drumkit like this.i guess that comes with a lot of practise and some talent.
@williamssally - Hey, sorry... I've been busy getting married. :) Anyhow, the snare drum preset uses some different libraries (music city sdx and barresi evil drums). Depending on which ones you have installed and authorized it might not work for you... sorry bout that.
i think evryone should take there hats off to you . you are extreamly good. could i ask you would it be possible for you to send me the preset you used for the kit it sounds awsum keep up the good work you are an inspiration
That was absolutely awesome to watch. So tight and such seamless transitions throughout the medley. I would have enjoyed hearing more Rosetta Stoned without The Pot mixed in, but kick ass nonetheless. I would love to see you play the Grudge, because I think you would do it justice. The end of that song is one of my favorite moments in drumming. Rock on man.
Any of you guys criticising? Lets see you guys pull this stuff off . I am a Juliard grad and happen to love this guy's playing. HAHAHAHAH cmon now. Fatter kick? Mix? What are you guys playing Skynard?
very nice man. Tool was and is one of my favorite bands, seen them many times. The process of learning to play their music defined and shaped me as a drummer many years later. Talk about a voyage
Got mad respect for you, Ive never been able to get used to or comfy on electronic sets.
@D20band - The snare is actually the only piece I didn't use from Barresi - I used one from Music City, I believe. I wanted a snares off sound, and that's one thing that barresi doesn't have. Thanks for the compliments!
Great work, man, you really got it!! :D why nothing from The Grudge?? :) Can you send me the medley you prepared, it's really cool, I'D LOVE to play along with it!!
@KillerDrummer88 - Thanks! I thought of using a ton of other songs, but they had to all fit together nicely. I actually want to do a medley of just the really old stuff sometime. Yes, I can get you the medley - I have to find the file - there are a couple versions that I tried out before settling on this one. I'll post a link sometime today and let you know.
My friend, this is something very special. I myself am pretty active in the drum cover youtube community, and to see something like this is not only a rare find, but an extremely well played, thought out, and produced project. Bravo. I must also thank you for your future breed machine cover, I have been waiting for someone to nail it so I can properly learn certain parts so that I may do a proper cover myself. Once again, very well done. I have subscribed and I look forward to more.
@handsomeandro - Thanks! Sometime I might actually break down some of the FBM parts in a video. It was a real project figuring out the 2nd part in the song in particular. Glad you enjoyed it!
glad im not the only one who had trouble with that thing.
i think figured the sticking and that the inner loop is 17/16, but its ridiculously difficult to figure at first because of the high tempo and off beat snare (correct me if im wrong though!)
pretty good, although i'm not sure i like the sound of the bass. it cuts too much, especially on doubles like in Jambi. that was where i really didn't like the sound of the bass. but good job anyway!
@MrSlymonkey - Agreed that it could have been a fatter kick with less of a point on it... since I'm playing along with the actual drums in the songs, that tended to mud up the mix to have that kind of kick, so I went for something that cuts a little more. Thanks for the compliments!
Fucking badass!! That transition between Rosetta Stoned and Hooker With A Penis was powerful enough to bring someone out of cardiac arrest. Good work.
@friend00f0p Thanks! Remember that I'm not using the sounds from the modules. Sending midi to the computer to trigger Toontrack Superior 2.2 - Barresi SDX on this video and mostly Avatar on soul burn. The TD-9 is WAY ahead of the TD-4 though... I wish I'd bought that over the TD-4. Either way I think you'll enjoy it immensely!
Slick licks my friend! Tools drummer is just amazing, I'd like to see you live, your very good. People just don't realize how much work, effort & pain goes into this.

what do you use to remove the drum track from the song? Do you just EQ it out or is there some software you use? BTW, you sir have tremendous talent

@swgeorge The track's volume is low and I'm sure they're EQ'ed out a bit.

I had a feeling 46&2 and The Grudge would be on here, but The Grudge isn't. That also had an awesome drum solo at the end.
