Some people keep saying that BCR should release them into the wild but how are those cats suppose to survive in the wild. I assume most of those cats have never haunted a real prey so they are not use to strategies they would use to hunt while some have been declawed by the previous owners. Some are not even use to their other species around them and so many things like that so i think they are better of in enclosure.

You're right, there are hardly any programs that release captive bred big cats, the thing we need to concentrate on is habitat preservation, if we cannot do this it's pointless to release more cats into the wild. Our cats couldn't be released anyway, for many of them we do not know their background, most of our tigers for example or hybrids between to sub species, they would also be a problem as they associate people with food etc..

MK182004, when a new law / rule is made it normally applies to future things. In this case all future enclosures/cage built would have to go by the new rule and all current cages could stay the same. But in the case the rule applies to all current enclosures/cages instead of just future ones. Grandfathering in means the rule would not apply to current cages but not grandfathering in means all current enclosures/cages would have to be rebuilt. Basically we would have to redo all of our yards.

This is not overexaggeration. I have two domestic cats and for the first four years of their lives they have to live in the house, the garage(specially fixed up for them), and a six by six by twelve outdoor enclosure with grass and climbing platforms because of Coyotes. They get plenty of food, water and shelter but still meow at the back doors, beging to play in the grass. They have more freedom and luxury than these big cats when its the big cats that are completely wild. Ridiculous

Along with the fact that most cats don't like to dig. I've owned and looked after many cats and not a single one of them has dug into the ground.

That lion and white tiger playing is just an awesome thing to see. While it may never happen in the wild,it does show that,while these cats are natural born hunters and are perfect predators,they can be warm and affectionate creatures as well. That law you are talking about is one of the most insane laws that I have ever heard proposed. NO CAT should be forced to walk on concrete. No large mammalian carnivore, be it a bear, a wolf, or any member of the big cat family should have to live in a small concrete-lined enclosure that would hurt their feet in addition to leading to stress that could possibly kill the animals.
