  • I would first like to say great work with your dog. I have trained 2 APBT service dogs one being a APBR dog and the other a UKC dog.

Now my 2 cents on the Merle issue... Breeders have outright admittied to cross breeding Catahoulas with APBTs. Also it is known and has been proven that people "hang papers" in attempts to register a pup that otherwise could not be. UKC, ADBA, AKC, ABKC all see the Merle trait as a disqualification for APBT, AST, AB( American Bully). However, APBR considers it...

  • @firebeetle99 an acceptable trait. I personally would question owning a merle just as I would question owning a red nose or blue nose simply because there is a strong correlation with diluted genes and health problems. FYI I have owned blue and red APBT. Regardless of my opinion about colors I think what people need to remember is that this breed needs people that are showing them in a better light and not focusing on how rare a color is.

  • Thank you also. The breed needs more people to promote its true positive nature.

In regards to Merle however your reasoning is in error. Simply because people mix and hang papers doesn't negate those that are pure. If so all breeds could be considered impure. People also admit mixing blue mastiffs and Pits. This doesn'tt make all blue Pits mastiff mixes. In 2005 registries changed - not the breed. The 1936, 1976 and 2001 standard all included Merle. The ADBA even admits purity on their site.

  • These videos are so helpful, thank you! Phoebe is my second service dog, she's Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Bekah was Am Staff mix. Both were self-trained and look to left and right for cars, know how to move or turn to the left/right, but I'm going back now and teach Phoebe her left and right paw as you have done here. They are great ambassadors for the breed. Camo is so cute, it will make her another irresistible service dog the public will love!

  • Wow, good job. Im picking up my new pit puppy today, i only hope i have the same results.

  • No mix. This is pure bred Merle Pit Bull. We have documented relatives through the 8th generation. Merle not being pure to the Pit Bull is an often perpetuated myth by those ignorant of history or biased by those who have sought to remove it from acceptance. The now beloved Red Nose was one at this cross-roads in history, now it is the number one desired genetic lines.

  • Wow, that's freaking amazing. My first time seeing a merle coat pit bull.

  • @PitBullRegistryCOM this is not a Pit Bulls. the lying need to stop. For real.

  • You are obviously ignorant to the registration standard pre 2005

  • @PitBullRegistryCOM Catahoula Leopard Dog cross that is what this is. The Lying Really need to stop

  • It is obvious you have read the position statement by Scot Dowd that was based on opinion and not fact where the Catahoula statement was first made in an attempt to back up his biased report which was given with the sole intent to exclude the Merle because it was feared to become a fad. As a registry yourself you should know better. Have you read the ADBA statement that the Merle did in fact exist in the breed?

  • @AmericanSuperDog that is bull shit

  • Are you referring to your attitude, your intelligence or just your own vulgar language? Keep posting so that everyone can see just what kind of representation they get from OREBA.

  • @AmericanSuperDog LOL STOP LYING TO BUYERS AND OTHER PEOPLE. REAL PEOPLE KNOW THIS IS CUR. ALSO KNOW YOU PUT CATAHOULA LEOPARD DOG TO GET BLUE MERLE.

  • Once again you prove your ignorance. Catahoula Leopard Dog Plus Pit Bull equals the Catahoula a mixed lineage but recognized breed unto itself. Are you too illiterate to read the quotes I provided from the ADBA directly on the Merle? Since YouTube does not allow for links I will have to improvise. adbadog.com / p_pdetails.asp ? fspid = 47 Simply copy and paste in your browser then remove the spaces.

  • @PitBullRegistryCOM Call them ask them about Merler in real game APBT it is not in the original breed history 801-936-7513

  • Sure I will call and get their opinion on "Merler" and on "in real game" right after I call and get their opinion on blueR and red noseR and ColbyR "in real game" and GreenwoodR. Since your literary skills prove you to be either intoxicated or illiterate is there any other questionsR that you would like me "in real game" to ask themR for you?

  • @PitBullRegistryCOM And ADBA is not the Original Breeders and Registry of Real game breed APBTS. Stop lying to buyers and registry mutts. ADBA is not doing that. They are trying to do better then lying UKC.

  • Once again your sentences are illegible, full of contradictions, are false in their intent and flat out make no sense. You seem to be the shining example of how Ghetto schools are failing our kids. Since you obviously can not follow written instructions I uploaded a video of the ADBA website and the 2 places it discusses their Merle policy and how it is recognized in the history of the breed. As for the UKC I am not sure what your point is there but do not really care either.

  • you are ignorance.

  • Are you on some mind-altering substance? Your writing does not even make sense. I visited your account and I think it proves the distinct possibility.

Here is a quote directly from their web site: "The ADBA recognized the fact that dogs with this merle color pattern were present in the breed, but they were not identified as ‘merle’. Most breeders described this color pattern as spotted, mottled or incorrectly as brindle." - adbadog.com

  • One Man told at ADBA it was never in the History of Real game Bred APBT. That is fact.

  • If that is the case why do they plainly say on their website that it is and has existed. All you have to do is read. Based on your responses however it seems obvious that you border on illiterate. -- adbadog.com

  • @PitBullRegistryCOM Stop cross dogs just to make money then registry the dogs. You are Idiot that is fact.

  • Coming from someone who can not even write a cohesive sentence?

  • @PitBullRegistryCOM THAT IS A LIE. STOP LYING. STOP TELLING MERLE DOGS ARE REAL PURE APBTS BUT THEY ARE NOT.

  • Where do you get your information from? If it is a lie maybe you can provide proof of this from a non-biased source? Read our comments to your post below where we pull a direct quote from the ADBA. Feel free to keep posting though and representing OREBA in such a negative way.

  • @PitBullRegistryCOM CATAHOULA LEOPARD DOG CROSS AKA CUR. STOP LYING MERLE WAS NEVER IN THE REAL GAME BRED APBT OR ORIGINAL PIT DOG. UNDERSTAND THIS. THE ORIGINAL PIT DOG WAS BULL TERRIER. YOU PEOPLE DON'T HAVE CLUE IN AMERICA. MOST OF YOU AMERICANS ARE KNOWN LIARS TRYING TO GET A HEAD ON A LIE.

  • "In talking to breeders and doing additional research, it is apparent that this color pattern is not "new’ to the breed. What is new to the breed is using the correct term merle to describe this color pattern. In 2001 at the urging of our fanciers, a list of ‘ACCEPTED TERMS TO DESCRIBE COLORS’ was adopted in an effort to enhance common understanding among fanciers of the breed." see for yourself - ADBA website under the Articles section

  • Continuing the ADBA quote "Up to this time these dogs with the merle color pattern were described as spotted, mottled, incorrectly as brindle , and in some incidences not addressed in the color description of the dog at all. In formulating the ‘ACCEPTED TERMS TO DESCRIBE COLORS’ within our breed, the ADBA sought out breeders and did a literature search of accepted canine references to come up with the terms that would be accepted to most accurately describe colors and color patterns."

  • @PitBullRegistryCOM you are known liar. I just call ADBA they said Merler was never in the history. You are Idiot and really Stupid.

  • More quote education directly from the ADBA "It was felt at that time, that the most accurate description of this color pattern is the term ‘merle’. In certain bloodlines we have verified merle dogs back four and five generations in the pedigree. "

  • @PitBullRegistryCOM THEY ARE MIX. YOU PEOPLE DON'T LIKE TELLING THE TRUTH. THIS IS REAL FACTS.

  • So where do you get your information they are mixed as we have shown proof in writing and in video and on pedigree and on pre-2005 standards across the board for all major registries that they are pure and natural to the pure bred American Pit Bull Terrier breed.

Are there any others you would like to call out as not-pure and provide evidence? Blue, Solid White, Red Nose, Others?

Let us have a mature sensible discussion. Write legibly providing evidence and sources of your info. as we have.

  • What is he mixed with? I bet it's some type of herding dog with all that weird coat he has.

  • Thanks, she has a bright future.

  • This is GREAT! THANK YOU.

    BEAUTIFUL pup.

    This is WONDERFUL for pitts.
