  • I Lived in el Paso Tx for a while - but not had the oportunity to attend that exibition- however i watched the "Titanic" collection in science center :-) there in el Paso - was a very great experience

  • I'm from El Paso and I had the the luck to see this piece at the exhibition.

Its kind of strange to see it in these video clips on youtube, but when you get to see it in person you actually feel the power of image. I don't think It looks the same in the photographs, in the actual painting, the colors are more blended and of course the details are stronger.

  • So good to know this Kahlo portrait is back in Austin, that it has been so well tended, while shared with other communities. I love her art, and her story:

I found the 2002 film, Frida, to be an amazing experience, as is viewing her art in person.

    Sincerely,

  • What an incredible story. It is very interesting to note the story of courier, Wyndel Faulk, and the way the painting is treated...like royalty. We are all very blessed to know that all involved are particularly knowledgeable and articulate on Frida Kahlo's remarkable life story. The caretakers at the Ransom Center with all of their collections make this a must in anyone's excursions toward discovering the many treasures that Austin has to offer.

    Sincerely,
