OUCH ! Too bad... :>( I used to fly a 30 size nitro heli, but decided it was too risky financially, so I walked away and stuck to planes. Gave them up too when gas went to 4 bucks a gallon. Now I just fly micro heli in the house, it almost free ! Dennis

the blade grip's ball link popped off and over pitched the one blade so much that it forced it down and hit the tail boom, the last squeal from the motor was when the blade hit the tail boom with the motor under full power and stripped the main gear. I know, I am a RC helicopter pilot and this happened to me accept he was asking for it when he updownupdownupdown and probably worn linkages lol.

@bunybuns bullshit... that antenna shows that its 35mHz... it goes up to some kilometers... at negative pitch motor shut off... In my opinion he forgot to swith from Flightmode 0 into Flightmode 1...

Blade bolts were probably too loose and the blades "rabbit-eared" under the stress of the maneuver he was trying and then hit the tail boom. Blade bolts improperly tightened are very very common.

looks like he had a blowout maybe a gear gave way on a tail shaft and the belt was slipping once the the belt starts slipping you will have a tail blow out.

Correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure he forgot to flip idle up. Panicked flipped the switch causing pinion to strip the gear and then he throttle cut before hitting the floor. Seem like a good pilot just bad luck

@badastinner he did switch to idle up, you can hear it from 0:09 -> 0:10, what happened is the blades hit the tail boom.
