I have an idea for a character- a person who has been on anti-depressants and/ or anti-anxiety meds since age 11, yet didn't need them, and now that they are almost 33 are getting off all these Rx drugs and feeling so much better after the withdrawal (of course), and realizes she never needed them at all. (HannahENowlin@gmail.com) :)
I've never watched an interview that kept my interest as much as this one or agreed with what the interviewee was saying as much as listening to Adam Elliot. He seems like an amazing guy and I really love this film and his shorts.
I know exactly what he means about sending a letter. My cousin and I used to hand write each other all the time. We still do. There is nothing like opening the mail box and seeing a letter from a friend. Your heart just feels all warm!
Mary and Max was is one of the best films i've seen, in general. I have never had a film make me feel the way this film did. As an animator Adam Elliot inspire me to make stories that emotionally touch me the way his films do.
I think it's a fantastic film about keeping something old-fashioned, friendship, alive. Beyond the hyper technology of social networking and such, Mary and Max coax each other out of her and his shell. One could say that the ending is too depressing or melodramatic or convenient, but I think it's just right -- they could never meet face to face. That would defeat the purpose of their pin-pal bond and bring it into an ordinary veneer.
i just watched "Mary & Max" and i cried a lot, for me is really the best animated movie i've ever seen, is my favourite from today!. Congrats Adam for doing this!
That movie kicked ass. When I saw it in the cinema, I felt as if I had made a very wise investment. If I don't get the DVD for my birthday or Christmas, I'm going to purchase it myself.
@tolchok89 i am appauled at that! it has the nicest storyline to it, based on a true story, and makes sense... just cos it isnt pixar or dreamworks i bet! thats horrible!

@fibee1380 In my humble opinion, the best animated film ever made. I am shocked that the Oscars failed to recognize this film.
