Actually,Deer and Bucks DO travel in herds. Its just that once you startle one,they seem to emit some kind of signal to the others,and the fan out away from each other. That is why Hunting on horse back is not always the best since it startles packs of Deer away from each other. Also, later in the game after the Armadillo Story line you learn that Deer dont exactly make you rich. If you really want money,go after some dangerous predators like cougars or bears.

Another tip (I dont know if you said this or not) Is to sell your hides/meat from skinning ur animals where they are not common,that means,If you skin about 10 bears in Tall Trees or Great Plains,travel down to Mexico by fast travel and you should get alot more money. Also while your in Mexico,you should hunt down about 2 packs of wolves and sell them in Thieves Landing. Not alot of wolves up there. Another thing. WHAT OUTFIT IS DAT?

I found a Very small glitch in the game that saves skinning/Picking feathers video time. instead of getting Off your horse and walking to the animal. Kinda step on the dead animals body with the horse, get of then hit your skinning button, it should skip the video and you'll get your skin/meat/claw/feather. Its really good if your hunting Bear or cow, Buffaloes. Bear, Cow, Buffaloes and horses having the longest skinning video. Just thought id let you know:D

but if you want to skip the sometimes the sometimes long skinning process ride you horse over the dead animal press y so you hop off and press y again and it should skip the the skinning part ( except for bears there harder)

check in tall woods, on the bear symbol. when u have the hunter outfit, nothing is as good as selling around 50 bear furs and hearts after killing only 25=)

I got SUPER lucky today hunting, I had to kill 5 wolves with my knife for Master Hunter 3, an entire pack rushed at me, and they shied away from me like the coyotes do, I could run around and knife all of them before I got attacked even once. Then later, I was standing on a hill outside of McFarlane's Ranch waiting to go to pleasance house for the Jackalope, I was strolling down the street, and BOOM, the Jackalope runs out right in front of me!

this is a tip for all of yall: there is only 20 buffalo in the game. but once you shoot them all you can only find some if someone is chasing one. So be a lookout for hunters chasing buffalo.

winchester repeater is one of the best most balanced weapons in this game, supposedly its the preferred weapon of bill williamson's gang, u can see it when marston gets shot at the start of the game. but i wouldnt suggest this for big game.

heres a tip with wolves: if you kill the alpha they usually run away now, to tell the alpha from the rest of the pack, he is usually whiter/blacker than any of the other wolves, kill him and stalk the rest for an easy time for killing wolves without them coming and biting you. One more thing, if you wound them but think they are dead they will come and attack you again so one of my 8 rules: Double Tap.

@3tGaming You should try "quick skinning." Just stop your horse on top of a dead animal and skin it. Then the animation is cut and you'll have all the items. So you wont get attacked while skinning your hunts.

If you put your horse over the animal while you skin it the animation won't happen and you will get the materials straight away, and you won't be jumped by any animals while wasting time with the cutscene.

I have a tip that I have yet to see in any of the videos. This tip is a time saver and a life saver, depending on where you are at the moment and also a gore remover. When skinning, put your horse right over the kill. Then dismount your horse and then you will have the option to skin the animal. Push triangle and then you are done! Skinned, no blood and less time. On to the next kill. If done right then your dismount, skin time and remounting of the horse is 3 seconds. Happy hunting!

Basically,if the trading post has alot of boar around and you sell boar to them.Then they won't give you much money(like $2-5), but somewhere far away may give you $12-15.Also, top right of Twin Rocks(where the Bighorns are)there is a point when you look at the map. In the middle of that point,is a little pathover the mountains.Once over the mountain there are ALOT of brush.There you will find Cougars, Bucks, Armadillos, Coyotes, etc Be prepared, those are all the animals i saw before i died!

Hourse problems :( I was in mexico were you do the "D" missions, and I bought the best hourse avabile from this trader. So I paid all this money for it, then I hitched it. Later on, I whistled to it, and this crapy slow brown house cam instead of my high quality expensive one. What a waste of money :( What do I do?

@RuneFinity44 When you bought the horse you should have gotten a deed. This deed is stored in your kit. If you open your kit and look for a piece of paper that says "horse name" deed or something like that and use it, then you should get your good horse back.

Tip: If you get out on top of what you just killed and tap the skin button twice you'l automatically get the animals parts without the cut scene... Make sure your horse isn't moving when u dismount if the point where you get on and off the horse isn't over the corpse it wont work... But yeah I love that glitch it makes looting like ten times faster
