  • @htidnigga 24-26 degrees C

  • what temp do you keep your water??

  • i thought turtles ate fish, or was i mistaken? mine eat everything that comes near them,

  • @azzamax21 yes fish eat turtles, if you read the discription it says the fish are all food!

The widows are too fast but all the rest are gone! had to buy some native rainbows.

  • yea sometimes turtles even eat turtles!!! and goldfish they are nasty little buggers with small bodies but big teeth and sharp minds.

  • NICE SETUP.

im thinking To Put 2 Oscar,1turtle and three Mono Fish. together in 5Ft Tank. ANY ADVICE GUYS?

  • thanks man.

  • nice tank and nice turtles

  • I'm going to start building a pond pretty soon I think.

  • This is really cool, I've had a shortneck turtle for about six or seven years now, but I've never really seen any others.

I handle him several times a day to go outside for a walk and to take him to the tub to be fed.

We've even got one of those turtle docks, but the problem is he's too big to sit on it without it sinking into the water, so we've had to build up a platform of rocks so he can get dry, and he just uses the turtle dock as something to hide under now...

  • Yeah i handle the every now and agian mainly just to take them in and outside.

    Different animals have different personalities.

  • do you handle them? my murray river short necks are not aggressive at all. they are about the same age and size as yours!

  • Yes i live in australia.

You need a class 2 license to keep these geckos, as there not the simplest lizard to keep. If you've never looked after a lizard sucsessfully i wouldn't recomend them.

  • do u live in australia. because a eastern long neck turtle as well and where did u get the barking geckos i really want 1 or 2. thx

  • ahhh they are gorgeous!!!!!!!

  • You cant really go by size = age.

The short necks are around 2 but the get feed every second day. Feed them less and they will grow slower.

  • how old is the largest turtle? mine is a bit bigger than your largest short neck and i dont know its age. cheers

  • yes the short necks are much more aggresive then the long necks, they bite alot harder too.

They can and do co exist in the wild and man made ponds, however in an aquarium, i think they are best kept to there seperate species.

  • do you notice any trouble between your long neck and the short necks. iv had to seperate mine, im just curious as to whether my problems were due to size difference alone or if other people have had problems with aggressive short necks

  • no i didnt buy the drift wood online.

  • Thanks for the comment...

I tryd plants in there other tank, the long neck was fine with em but the short necks would eat every bit of green i put in there.

I have sold the short necks and have plants in the tank.

  • Nice set up, you could use some plants.. did you bought your drift wood online?
