Chipmunks don't store fat so they have to have food stored away to get through the winters while they semi-hibernate. If you see a chipmunk who looks fat it is a female just about to deliver her babies. They are very ambitious creatures who work very hard & they don't hurt anyone...well except each other sometimes if disputing over a valuable food source! Thanks for sharing!
