  • tips please?

about how to make your back so flexible

P.S. im a contortionist in Training

i dont know what p.s. means but oh well

  • hi you are amazing but dont bend your arms when you are handbalancing you can get hurt. try to do a simple handstand and slowly take one leg until your head the other one strech until you have the balance then you can take the second leg to the head and always do points on your toes. I hope you can understand my english and also the explanation I've been taking a lot of handstands and handbalancing workshops

  • lol im too afriad to try this

  • When you stand on your chest like that don't you find that you neck presses into the floor? lol

  • have you got messenger?

  • no.

  • Lauren, everybody is waiting for your "January 09

contortion". Of course you aren´t obliged to hang a new video every month, but...

    what wonderfull would be that¡¡¡

  • lol. im gonna make a february one to make up for january and february :)

  • also make it "high quality" i.e. just don't compress it as much when you compile it...

  • how do i make my videos high quality?

  • There is no "trick", its just using the highest quality your editor will allow you to use, and youtube automatically calls it "high quality."

  • hey girl long time no talk you are amazing i am still doing contortion too and i am turning 12 soon but i have learned how to roll forward too.You are doing great too

  • your elasticity is amazing. You must work your splits and spagats............... and the do spagat in two separate chairs....

  • Great video.Your backbends are amazing.

  • That is really good I love your triplefold I would be able to do one if I didn't just recently go through a shoulder injury. But anyway your handbalancing ... use a wall to find your center then improve your splits til you get about a 12inch oversplit. Then it will be easier to hit your center. Strangely I have had faster progress after my injury... oh well ... Go ahead try it. from this video it looks like your hamstrings are rather "tight"

    ¡GREAT JOB!

  • nice work! hope you feel better soon, and have a happy holiday season yourself. :)

  • Lauren you're the best EVER!!! I love the way you're learning to get into the handstand!

  • Hi Lauren. Hey, your BACKBEND at 1:09 is simply EXTRAORDINARY! You don't look just so comfortable, but you also stand up from there so smoothly and fluent. WOW! How does it feel? Have you done this in school? XD

  • Wow, you are getting really flexible! Looks like you can almost touch your shoulders to the backs of your legs! I look forward to that!

  • The best amateur contortionist I have seen in my life!

  • superb flexibility!

  • Great!!

  • How would I be able to get my back to bend further?

  • awesome! the only thing is to maybe point ur toes. it just looks better

  • Excellent!

  • i always look forward to watching your newest contortion videos,

    you're great! :D

  • I envy you. Please , don't forget to sit in the splits for minutes.

    Merry Christmas cheezy contortionist

  • Truly awesome as always. Two things though I really want to ask:

Firstly, does your butt actually touch your back like it looks like it does at the end of the video? It looks like it gets really close at least.

Secondly, I've never known anyone that learned to do a backbend that well *before* they became an expert handbalancer so I was wondering, is it much easier to do a handstand like that, with your feet hanging down in front of you, then it is to do a normal, straight up one?

    Take care!

  • sometimes it touches my back, sometimes, it doesnt. i depends how stretched i am.

hmm, actually, i dont know. haha. because im good at handstands, but only when im walking. and my feet dangling in front of me i think will be easier once i practice it more. because its easier to hold yourself up like that because im just using my back.

  • That makes sense. That's got to be such a strange/surreal feeling.

Heh. A walking handstand is definitely way easier than a staying-in-one-place handstand. Even harder is a handstand with your back totally straight (i.e. looking *along* the ground rather than *at* it).

  • I guess in a backbend you only have to get your feet a few inches off the ground to have it be a handstand, rather than hoisting them all the way up to the ceiling. Although if your back doesn't "fold" right above your butt, doing a handstand in a backbend is definitely harder than a regular one just because of how awkward it is.

  • I can tell you: It's easier to do a hand stand when you're in a backbend because of a basic physics principle: your center of gravity is LOWER than where you are straigth. It's almost the same when you do a split in handstand position, except than there is not a better way to low your center of gravity than in a backbend. (IT'S BEAUTIFUL!)

  • awesome :D

  • awesome, 5 stars=].

  • fantastic head sit! :)

  • wow you've really improved!!!! Ha I was watching TV too...

  • Superduper! Have a nice Christmas!

  • Total awesomeness! Great job! Merry Christmas and Happy 2009 to you! Hope you feel better soon and stay stretchy!

  • Thanks for your video. You are very nice contortionist

  • lol. of course i can do a cartwheel x]

    haha. thanks :P
