socks are needed on a newborn because babies lose a lot of heat out of their feet... the socks help to keep it in.

They are called mittens. We use them cause babies scratch themselves with there soft sharp nails. This is just to prevent it.

@XxXTonksAndLupinXxX they have very soft skin and really sharp nails. when i was born the nurse forgot to put gloves on me and i scratched myself on the face. i'm not 25 and still have the scars. stupid nurse
