Although I don't agree with his methodology, I do agree, however, that this article was quite weak in giving the best argument for evolution while even stating ,"we must remain agnostic on a definitive conclusion." Is this the best evidence? As for the cultural aspect, the article didn't comment on this, so it could have been cultural (even though television and billboards were not as prevalent as it was after the time frame indicated in the article.)
Of course it's not the "best evidence," which is why it was a side link on CNN rather than a publication in a scientific journal. All the article really did was provide one of the many sets of data that may or may not be indicative of short-term human evolution in a form comprehensible to a typical CNN reader.

Right after the video was made, I had the pleasure of talking to Shawn directly and having a debate. I have the messages still, and to be quite honest, the boy really can't function outside of quoting other people. Although I don't agree with his methodology, I do agree, however, that this article was quite weak in giving the best argument for evolution while even stating ,"we must remain agnostic on a definitive conclusion." Is this the best evidence? As for the cultural aspect, the article didn't comment on this, so it could have been cultural (even though television and billboards were not as prevalent as it was after the time frame indicated in the article.)

All the article really did was provide one of the many sets of data that may or may not be indicative of short-term human evolution in a form comprehensible to a typical CNN reader.

That doesn't surprise me. A while back I caught him plagiarizing creationist websites in his responses to Thunderf00t about science in the Bible. How much of his messages were just him quoting other people?

@GuineaPigDan I'd say his whole argument was just quoting/linking to other arguments. I wanted to see if he knew about the subject or was ignorant and just acting as if he was informed. I used my experience as a Biology major to gauge his response. Shawn barely grasps basic/simple biological concepts and how heredity works in general. When Shawn realized that he couldn't just feed me quotes, he regressed to just conspiracy theory and name calling for not letting him use his stolen/fake terms.

Yes, and teenage pregnancy is definitely linked to to the liberal atheistic agenda to make women look like prostitutes... uhm, no, wait... where does that leave the substantial amount of data that point to a clear link between a nations religiosity and both teenage marriage and pregnancy? Let alone the fact that's pointed out here that the data comes from the church from an age where religiosity was a given!? Again, the evidence points to exactly the opposite of what the religious want it to.
