They have the biggest bite force than any dog! They are the third best for a Guard Dog. Six best for intelligence (my rot Oso knows about 10 tricks!) and a great family dog
i dont like the docked tails but thery are gorgeous dogs. i have a mutt alot of people say his markings are very rotty but im thinking hes more a collie mix
I don't know why people hate on Rotties. My aunt owns a Rottie and a toy poodle and I must say the poodle is far more aggressive. Simba (The rottie) is just a big softie.
he is almost 10 weeks old now.. and i got like 5 days ago! i took him away from his mother and when i brought him back home he was sooo afraid for 2 days.. and still he doesnt play alot and he doesnt welcome me when am back home.. he loves me and when i go to sleep he cries cause he wants me next to him.. is this gona stay for a while or will it stop?
i can teach him lots of commands once he starts being playful and all! :(

@lalle30 this is 1 of the most ridiculous and misinformed comments ive read . neither male or female rottweilers and for that much 99% of domestic dogs i would probably even go higher will not "fight to the death"(unless your micheal vick or someother douchebag) but will say yes to female having a lil more drive i have 2 rots m & f and he's a good 25-30 lbs heavier than her ,but what she gives up in size she makes up for in attitude and guts
@thehomefront Maybe if they're not trained or socialized... A properly raised rottie is not aggressive towards anyone that is welcome to be around you.
@thehomefront rottweilers are not at all aggressive to children they are very protective of children in there family and of there territory which is why you hear of these dogs attacking, if parents educated there children a little about dogs then we would not have this problem, some children will just run upto my rottie excited and think they can just stroke her you should never do this with any dog its just that when rotties bite they can cause more damage than most dogs do.

You might be interested: I've discovered the ultimate fight stopper. I keep a 15 lb CO2 fire extinguisher handy. I have two males that are pretty good about not fighting--but I can't depend on it. When they get at it I completely cover their heads in CO2 snow (powdered dry ice). They can't breathe, and they break within 5-10 seconds. The CO2 just evaporates--no mess, and no poison on the dogs. Just make sure to really cover their mouths and noses; they MUST stop, because they can't breathe.
Can't believe they don't get in a fight. My dobes would be rippin' on each other after about 10 seconds of that (actually, they'd probably just rip the toy in half and each take their halves). They used to have fights over big kongs--that they couldn't rip apart ;)
