i remember this, and i was disappointed because i was too young to ride it. i grew up though, and i've ridden this awesome coaster over 20 times. it will always be one of the best wooden coasters in the world. <3 u Beast!
WOW!!! Oh how I remember this commercial. Living in Indianapolis we went to Kings Island every summer. This commercial was such a big deal back in the day.
My favourite rollercoaster. It beats the diamond back but Im sure thats because its more thrilling being knocked around and its nostalgic. I always wanted to read the story for the beast itself. (Not RL Stines b out the ghost but the actual story on what the beast really is and how it go there.) I'd also love to see a full picture of the beast by the original artist..
@Ashtinz you need to re ride it it's not rough anymore in 2009 or so the fixed some of the track to make it much more smoother trust me I rode it about a week ago
One of my favorite rides ever was on this when I was in high school, early 80's. They let us go as a thunderstorm was approaching. Stopped us at the top of the first hill for nearly a minute and then sent us in the rain. Wow. So much fun.
31 years and it's still using its original logo, original scenery, original theming, original station/entrance, and its original name. And it still runs like brand new.
Damn, that's a well-preserved coaster. KI and Cedar Fair did a great job with not ruining this one. Thumbs up for the Beast!
@Prim3StaR agreed. the only bad thing they did was remove the original 4 bench PTC trains with the buzz bar. besides that, it's exeactly how it was when it opened. the entrance is now even where it used to be cause they had to put it back where it was when diamondback was built
OMG! I remember this commercial when it aired. We were living in Centerville outside of Dayton, OH in '79 and I can remember watching this. The Beast is still the best coaster they have.

Such a great coaster. The Mean Streak at Cedar Point comes close, but it lacks the "soul" that The Beast has!

That'd be 1979, when The Beast first opened...30 years later, it's still one great, great coaster. Especially at night! :D
