That was about the most boring rhythm track possible given his melodic soloing! It's as if he just lays down tracks in the studio just to solo over sometimes. Come on Joe, it's not 1986 anymore! Everyone considers him a Bay Area musician, but technically he's from Long Island like Vai. If you want a REAL talent from the Bay who doesn't waste a note, and is unfailingly melodic and tasty in all aspects of his playing, just say Neal Schon.
