Did this game come with a book about the history of motor racing or something? Maybe I am misremembering, but it's hardly the kind of thing I would make up.
This game is super fun. I played it with a Joystick since my C64 controller had those hard buttons and it hurt my thumbs after a while from pushing the d-pad ><.
It's super fun and the only thing you do is push gass, push back to break and stear lol. But it's hella fun.
Wow I didnt know we had this one for the C64. I tried it on my friend's Amiga later (when my C64 was already considered to be an ancient artifact :D).
Its very well made actually. I had Test Drive for the c64 and they had not figured out how to make you see ahead (i.e. the road would suddenly start turning etc.).. so this is really well done considering the tech level.
Okay, 16-Bit-Versions were better, but to see this in that quality on the C=64 was really amazing. One of my favourite Games in my childhood... GEOFF CRAMMOND is the best!!!
There are good games and there are even better games. And then there are games like Stunt car racer! The physics are just incredible for it's time. On Atari and Amiga it was even possible to play multiplayer over the parallel port... LAN gaming in the 80s!
the power of the car engine is incredible :D

Most realistic engine sound on the C64. They should have used this in Grand Prix Circuit, too!

I used to have a Commodore 128 and I must have spent at least 4 weeks total time playing this game!!! used to play until 3AM sometimes (no kidding!!)
Fave. course was the high jump... but watch those cracks in the old chassis!!

Back in the 1980s, this game impressed everyone I knew who owned a C64. It was very well done for a system with 64K and a 1Mhz CPU.

I must say I got more enjoyment out of this than I do out of gta4 and farcry 2. This game was the beast I used to sit on it for hours.

Kids today taking it all for granted
Rather a good version considering the limitations of the C64(it was very slow at this type of thing)
Anyway still a great game though best played on an A1200 with NTSC set

It still amazes me how programmers on the C=64 manages to get so much out of the machine, as seen with this port, or "G.I.Joe" or "Street Fighter".
The C=64 truly was a masterpiece of engineering, just like it's Amiga relatives.
