$40 makes a huge difference for a struggling family, whereas a huge tax cut for the wealthy is hardly noticed at all, makes NO difference to their lifestyle.
40 bucks for me is a lunch and a dinner from MacDonalds. Especially since im a college kid who needs to save to help pay for rent when after im done with college I need all the money i can save.
@RedTory59 I don't think they're assholes. It's simple give-n-take. They take money from the rich, they help the rich. It's the stupid poor and middle class that continue to vote for them that are the assholes.
Most Americans are too stupid to realize that a payroll tax cut would put more money in their pockets. I think they should have cut the whole 12% tax however. Give the employee a 6% break and employers a 6% break and folks wouldnt be getting $40 bucks extra, they'd likely be getting about $200 bucks extra (which is of course $400 a month for folks paid bi-weekly). That much extra cash in an environment where employers were freed from the tax as well would cause a hiring explosion. Real Stimulus
