  • Thanks for the video. I bought some dumplings in Lörrach and wasn't sure how long "kurz" is... or if I was supposed to take them out of the cold water and place them into boiling water. Thank you so much for the video! I'll try the loose mix next time.

  • @cararose1977 - we are glad you found this video helpful. When making dumplings using the loose mix, be sure to use no more than the stated amount of water. Pour the mix into the water slowly while beating the water rapidly. This will help avoid lumps.

  • i want the chef jacket... :) being german, i initiated a basic cooking school for young adults in Waterdown, Ontario - have a look on jamie oliver's website under foundations, food revolution, news, latest news and i'm on page 8 so far (nov. 30, comunity kitchen story)

  • @merlineaton Product Information -

We ordered this jacket for Chef Uwe from:

    Culinary Classics at 800-373-2963

If they still have the records our order # was 0607280041

  • @GermanDeliMarketing It was 4 or 5 years ago, I think.

  • Very Cool Video, But the Kitchen is good ole USA / Canada. Look at the power plug in on the back splash behind the stove. North America is the only area that uses that type Electrical Plug. mmm..... if the German accent is for Real? Looks like good Food!

  • @jdboatrigr12470 Uwe was born in Germany but is now a US citizen (with a real German accent). Our business is located in the USA and the videos are designed to show Americans how to use some of the German products we sell.

  • Chef Uwe is the best! I remember all these foods my Mom made when I was young,a nd I try to make them now. I'm proud to be German!!!!!!!

  • @PABSTMAN138 - LOL!!! Chef Uwe's accent is only one of a million reasons why we love him. :-)

  • lecker lecker lecker! ;-)

  • Laka Laka :D

  • @TeamRedz :-D

  • @TeamRedz In german its called " Lecker Lecker " ;)

  • 30 years ago, while stationed in Bamberg, I had the pleasure of being introduced to knodel. Imagine my greater surprise and pleasure when I found, upon returning to the states, that boxes of dry mix could be found in the supermarkets.

  • @drkjk It's great, isn't it? Check out GermanDeli . com for thousands of other German groceries - including other things you probably enjoyed while stationed in Bamberg.

  • Having the bowl of water ready was a great idea--not just to ease the rolling of the dumplings, but to silence all of the complaints you would've gotten about not washing your hands first! I've never tried to make semmelknoedel by hand because they seemed too hard to make correctly, but the packaged variety are a piece of cake.

  • Everytime I see a German Kitchen it is always absolutely spotless. I think if I went to Germany I wouldn't want to come back.

  • @16125911 you are correct. Germans are typically neat-freaks and take cleaning to a new level.

  • he means potato mix guys
